"The ****way To Heaven's Back Doors" is even worse than anything the manufactured boy band The Beetles did and that's ****ing saying something. Bobby Plantfuck is a ****ing big log that needs flushing down the ****ing khazi.

If you ignore wether or not you like the actual band they were in or music they produced ,and focus only on the persons guitar playing ability:

    Brian May
    John Squire
    Eric Clapton
    Jimmy Page
    B B King

next 5 - interchangeable with above

    Frank Zappa
    Hendrix
    David Gilmour
    Johnny Marr
    Townsend

I don’t like some the bands these guys were in or their music but for guitar playing ability , they’re amazingly talented .

note - Clapton did it first , Hendrix copied the daft old racist

Great thing about this thread is the bump it gives to those getting highlighted ...

A personal memory of mine, involving somebody not even getting a mention so far, goes back to 1981 ... I was 21years old - student union at what was then Nene College in Northampton had booked a relatively unknown Irish band but the organisers were quite excited because the band was starting to get noticed ... they were brilliant compared to the usual fare and the pulsating guitar of one particular track really had the crowd hooked ... the track was 'I Will Follow'... the band U2 ...and the stunning guitar playing by 'The Edge' ... think they went on to have a pretty good career ...<laugh>

John Squire is the 3rd best musician in The Stone Roses, just ahead of Ian Brown on tambourine.

Prince > every other ****er who ever lived.
