I'd have Adrian for the GK spot, but im probably biased. Good shout for Downing as well...

Austin has 11 goals and three assists. QPR only have 20 goals as a team. He should be in there over Costa who has 12 goals and no assists out of 38.

    De Gea
    Ivanovoc Terry Cahill Azpilicueta
    Fabregas Matic
    Hazard Eriksen Sanchez
    Costa

Costa only as Aguero has missed a few games through injury.

    A team without Chelsea players...

    De Gea
    Clyne Fonte Reid Bertrand
    Jedinak
    Barkley Eriksen
    Downing
    Austin Bony

I came up with this without looking at any of the previous line ups. Maybe a bit crazy but without Downing, Terry and more Chelsea defenders but some players from West Ham and Saints deserve credit as these individuals have performed way above expected. Carrick has been massive since he came back, but just not seen enough games to judge - Kompany has been out a fair bit too.

    De Gea

    Clyne
    Alderweireld
    Reid
    Jenkinson

    Fabregas
    Sanchez
    Matic
    Song

    Aguero
    Costa

Subs: Lloris, Creswell, Milner, Davis, Schneiderlin, Perez, Austin.

Song is a good addition <ok> Interesting team, shame you weren't so bold with your strikers?

Song! Been championing him all season and hoping we are in for him in the summer when his loan is up, I'd stick him in instead of Barkley in my 2nd team.

Jenkinson has been paying RB for WHU so you can't put him LB, better off going for Cresswell who has been just as good for them at LB. Otherwise good shout with less obvious players (apart from the forward as Treble says).

Wanyama is another ommission by many. Hes been great for saints. Could go in the less obvious teams. Also agree with lee regarding downing.

Come on guys. Austin needs to get the credit he deserves here. Costa has 12 goals and no assists. Austin has 11 goals and three assists. Chelsea have 38 goals and QPR have 20. Take Costa's goals out and Chelsea drop from 42 points to 37. Take Austin's goals out and QPR drop from 17 points to 5. It's unfair to leave Austin out for Costa. In these sort of teams the player in the better side always gets picked over a player with similar numbers in a much worse side. I never understood the logic behind it. It's harder to perform with worse players around you, with your team on the back foot in the majority of games.

    De Gea

    Clyne
    Terry
    Alderweireld
    Bertrand

    Sanchez
    Fabregas
    Matic
    Downing

    Aguero
    Austin

Its easy to pick austin over costa. Hes been the better player. Over aguero though? Not so easy.

Even as a Chelsea fan, I have to say I agree with this.
Austin has performed admirably, for a completely dog **** side.
Costa has been playing with probably the worlds best assister (is that a word) in Fabregas, behind him.

I certainly agree there is more of a case for leaving out costa than fabregas. Fabregas will be short listed for player of the year.

But just to counter that.. austins goals have got QPR to the relegation zone.... Costas have got Cheksea top.

It's a tricky one but being new to english footvall and being the focus point in Chelsea's attack with so much pressure after the move and the failings of Chelsea strikers last year is a good achievement.

I've put Austin in my nom Chelsea team with bony

Leaving out Fabregas is madness!! He has been immense for us. Will almost certainly break the PL assist record this year too.
Costa has been very good for us, and I had a suspicion he would click for us given his style.

As for his goals taking us top though and Austins leading QPR to the relegation zone.....not much Costa or Austin can do to change that. Their job is to score.....a goal is a goal, and they all count as 1.

It's certainly a lot easier than picking Carrick over Fabregas.

If you look at their contribution to their respective teams, Austin's goals have taken QPR out of the relegation zone, and without him they would be dead last. Whilst Costa has taken City from second to first, which is an achievement, but not on a par with what Austin has achieved imo.

Also remember that Austin is new to the PL, just like Costa. And foreign strikers often start at a gallop in the PL - Hernandez, Michu, Ba, Cisse, Sanchez and others all hit the ground running - if anything it seems easier for strikers to make an impact in their first season than other players.

    De Gea

    Ivanovic
    Cahill
    Kompany
    Azpilcueta

    Sanchez
    Song
    Fabregas
    Di Maria

    Costa
    Aguero

You can't really argue with the inclusion of a lot of Chelsea players so far, you could even make a case for a few others. Matic in particular I was considering putting in ahead of Song

You don't have to keep attacking the guy just because he holds a different opinion to you. The conversation has moved on, so should some of you Chelsea fans with your posts.

If this happens, it will further highlight just how poor the PL has become:biggrin:
