As far as I'm concerned they are all pretty naff video's. They were randomly selected by fate. Who can honestly post the best most random personal songs selected by the important dates in your life? It clearly isn't me. No cheating!

The winner earns free beer.

Here are some resources to help you.....

USA no:1 hit - June 2nd 1961 "Travelin' Man" by Ricky Nelson

I can live with that.

Wherever I venture I always seem to find a smart arse. I'm actually only 22, I just made these dates up to add a bit of interest. All of this modern stuff is noisy and I cant understand what they're trying to sing about.

Had to go US Billboard Hot 100 on my dates to spice it up. The UK list was Ronan Keating, R Kelly etc and that isn't me :)

Being Norwegian it might be more fitting with the Norwegian Top 20's #1's.

Nines - The Spencer Davis Group - Somebody Help Me would have been fitting music for our last two seasons in the Premier League.

Also this one might apply - fitting lyrics (imagine poor old Tony Fernandes reflecting on what was going wrong?)

"There must be some kind of way out of here,"
Said the joker to the thief,
"There's too much confusion,
I can't get no relief.
Businessman they drink my wine,
Plowman dig my earth
None will level on the line, nobody offered his word, hey"

The day I was born in...........1979......... Ami Srewart.. Knock on Wood..

US #1

I remember going to Butlins in Barry Island with my school when that was no. 1. Ring my bell by Anita Ward followed this as the next no.1 as I recall. It was during my first and last ever paper-round at John Snow newsagents on junction with Uxbridge Road and Bloemfontein Rd. After two weeks of getting up at seven, seven days a week for 65p I told him to poke it. The shop still exists today.

You are not setting a very good example as a Mod by ommitting the "O/T" from the thread title..."privilege of rank" on that one too? <laugh>

Sorry. As you were....<ok>

That's a very good point Queens! But you know what? Feck it! I'm off to bed... privilege of rank and all that.

Can't post videos from here - funny how different company internet policies work - but mine are....

Day I was born (1965) - King Of The Road by Roger Miller
18th Birthday (1983) - True by Spandau Ballet
Day I met my wife (1987) - Respectable by Mel and Kim
Day I was married (1988) - I Owe You Nothing by Bros
Day my first child was born (2000) - Don't Call Me Baby by Madison Avenue
Day my second child was born (2002) - Just Like A Pill by Pink

On the day of my birth Henry VIII was still touring with his hit "Greensleeves'.........

21 January 1961 - someone called Johnny Tillotson with 'Poetry in Motion'. Too dull to post you tube link. The very next day it was Elvis with Lonesome Tonight

18th Birthday - YMCA Village People. Too familiar to post YouTube link. The very next day it was Ian Dury & the Blockheads with Hit me with Your Rhythm Stick

Met wife 1988 - Yazz and the Plastic Population, The Only Way is Up (very early pre market conditioning for the current VW midget car)

Married Wife 1993 - Take That featuring Lulu Relight My Fire (and while you're at it, burn down Stoke)

I feel a deep melancholia setting in.
