Who was Liverpools goal machine? Didn't we get there 1st with the sit down Pinocchio chant for Phil Thompson?
Thought some of you might be interested to know that Saints fans got a mention on one of the Punk Britannia programmes that have been on BBC4 over the past week. The Skids did the original "The Saints are Coming", and they mentioned that fans of Southampton Football Club aka "The Saints" had adopted the song!
Up there with the worst chants, along with the Cortese one, "**** off" and any song we sing to the "we're coming for you" (pretty much the only tune heard on matchdays at SMS)
If, "Oh when the Saints......." isn't a proper anthem I don't know what is. Like Milton Archer mentioned, we should ditch the slow verses, they came from Spurs. It is our song, we should sing it our way.
It is an anthem, but about 30 odd sides use it across the FL, and we're really crap at singing it as well if we're honest. The only time we are good at singing it is when we do the quick version for like 15-20 minutes straight, as you see sometimes when it's constant that it lifts the players.
Not a song I know, but it cracked me up when everybody started chanting " you look just like a wotsit" at Dean Lewington when MK Dons played at St Marys in their orange away kit
Don't like Steeeeve, always sounds like we're bboing our own players. Would far prefer it if we sang "De Ridder's on the ball" instead.
