The people you've chosen are bang on, I agree with that choice. For the forwards... hmmm, I don't think we can say at this time, we need to see how they're playing closer to the big kick off. If Rooney's ban is upheld then leave him at home. Most likely strikers would be Welbeck, Sturridge and some other onform front men
Hart, Green, Carson Richards, Walker, Terry, Cahill, Jones, Lescott, Cole Walcott, A Johnson, Gerrard, Parker, Wilshire, Barry, Downing, Young Bent, Rooney, Wellbeck, Defoe, Carroll* *Ordinarily I'd prefer another central-midfielder, probably Lampard, Milner or Rodwell, but with Rooney suspended for the group stage, I wouldn't want us to go in with only three strikers for that group stage. So Carroll gets the nod, just ahead of Sturridge.
I think you might be right. Usually you would go for two XI's plus a keeper for 23. But with Phil Jones playing pretty well in midfield I think we can sacrifice one to take an extra striker to replace Rooney. It looks pretty likely that he will go, if he wasn't going to then Capello would have already ruled him out.
He's a loyal type. Also, he's a very influential player that the chairman would want to keep at almost any cost. I believe he earns more than most championship players £20-25k per week I think. He presumably saw the ambition of the club and wanted to remain part of it. The lack of pace and physicality will have put people off him at a young age and today he's firmly tied down and wants to play for us.
Hart, Carson, Stockdale Walker Richards Cole Lescott Terry Jones Cahill Parker Lampard Gerrard Wilshere Rodwell Walcott Milner Downing Young Rooney Wellbeck Bent Sturridge Team in bold, with Wellbeck replacing Rooney while he is banned.
Why don't you go tell the Academy at Southampton to get their finger out and start producing some more Walcotts then please... Feeder Club (to Arsenal) = Reality
Ahead of you there mate. Saints are piling money into the youth system. The feeder club thing won't work too well for you unless you fancy more silly deals like the Chamberlain deal. The reality is that we're laughing all the way to the bank.
Don't worry I support Norwich and Chelsea, if the Gunners want to blow their cash, I don't begrudge them...good luck trying to do a "norwich" this season
after scrolling through some good posts and some crap i am glad most have discarded Rio, Rooney if he plays and the opposition do it right will be sent off after 5 minutes so he is a nono, terry no, lampard no, gerrard no Hart Jones Cahill Walker Baines Parker Wilshire Young Walcott Wellbeck piss off all the old and useless and start a new team

Hart Walker Ferdinand Cahill Cole Parker Wiltshire Gerrard Young Rooney A Johnson Stockdale, Carson, G Johnson, Baines, Jones, Smalling, Rodwell, Milner, Cleverley, Lampard, Welbeck, Sturridge, Walcott, Carroll Drop 2 depending on form injuries etc. Maybe Lampard and Carroll. But Cleverley needs to play.
That is a terrible team. Johnson over Walker and Richards, Downing Milner Gerrard must be the worst midfield England would have put out in the last 5 years (and there have been some rubbish ones) My Team Robinson (I guess we are assuming all retirements are withdrawn) Walker Smalling Jones Cole Parker Wilshere Rodwell Young Rooney Walcott 2nd Team (subs) Hart and Foster Lescott Richards Ferdinand Jagielka Lampard Huddlestone A Johnson Lennon Wellbeck Defoe
So long as we don't take Lampard, Gerrard or Ferdinand, I'm OK. The old hat needs ditching before Redknapp comes in because you can bet your house that he won't do it.
