The injuries to Wilshere, Rodwell and Cleverley limit the youthful options of the squad. However, I hope the manager continues the youthful policy and leaves out players like G. Johnson, Barry and Gerrard in favour of younger faces like Walker, Jones and A. Johnson. I imagine none of the latter three would start, but they can provide impact from the bench.

Having said I want a youthful squad, after his performances this year, the England manager should move heaven and earth to get Scholesy on the plane.

    GK: Hart, Carson, Ruddy
    RB: Richards, Walker
    LB: Cole, Baines
CB: Ferdinand, Terry, Smalling, Cahill, Jones
    CM: Parker, Scholes, Carrick, Lampard
    RW: Walcott, Sturridge
    LW: Young, A. Johnson
    CF: Rooney, Welbeck, Defoe

    Lining up like:

    Hart
    (Carson, Ruddy)
    Richards Ferdinand Smalling Cole
    (Walker) (Terry) (Cahill) (Baines)
    Parker Scholes
    (Jones) (Carrick)
    Walcott Rooney Young
    (Sturridge) (Lampard) (A. Johnson)
    Welbeck
    (Defoe)

And Sturridge or A. Johnson coming in for Rooney for the first two games, with Young switching with them to play off the striker.
