Gazza's great strike against Scotland in Euro 96, Shearer's second vs Holland a few days later, Pearce's "come on" after his penalty vs Spain, Owen vs Argentina, Beckham's free kick vs Greece and penalty vs Argentina, Rooney's goals vs Croatia in Euro 2004.

8 years since a great England moment.

I try to do a thread for some positive memories and end up with a load of my very own English mopeys <laugh><doh>

Miserable lot! <whistle>

I remember England beating Tunisia and the Argentina match went to extra time and Pens and we lost right at the end, that terrible P Neville tackle,I remember losing Rooney at euro 2004 and that being one of the excuses when we lost the match.
going out to Portugal in 2 tournaments in a row, maybe 3 out of 5 if this tournament as well; and finally I remember being angry that Carragher had to retake his penalty

Gazza 96. THAT goal against Scotland followed by THAT potential golden goal miss against Germany. The shape of english football history could have changed in that one moment.

I will never forget the goal by Trevor Brooking for England, when the ball jammed in the frame of the goal.

Lo-and-behold it's on youtube!

First football tournament I remember is Argentina 78, I think most of the country wanted Argentina to win due to Elaine Paige. England weren't even there, Scotland were supposed to do well, but were ****e, so I really shouldn't have had much expectations of how future tournaments would pan out after that, sadly Pearce having his penalty saved is the moment I'll most remember.
