    Easily.

Bale was exceptional but Modric dictated the game with absolute ease. He could make passes that I couldn’t even spot in the stands and considering I have a better view of all things going on around him it just was mad and incredible to watch him do what he did, I used to always say that he was the one that made the pass before the assist, his stats showed he rarely assisted or scored but I assure you, 90% of our goals were down to him. No one could ever tackle him either, would just glide past players like it was nothing in a sort of Zidane-esque way.

I’d go as far as saying that we likely won’t get a better CM than him in my lifetime.

Same with Charlton. Even if they are half decent when they arrive, we soon turn them to ****. Eventually they move on and become half decent again.

Jimmy Floyd Piggybank, was one of my favourites at Charlton. I put more effort in getting the beers in at half time than he did playing footy for 90 mins.

We've had plenty through the years with the worst being Winston Bogarde, Chris Sutton, Robert Fleck, Ambrosetti, Mutu, Del Horno & De Lucas.

lol bit harsh to include de lucas and ambrosetti. One was free and the other cheap as chips.

Bogarde theres a big waste of space and money the world has seen

You can't use money as a yardstick Bobby Bogarde was a freebie too.

yea but bogarde took up massive wages. Well i guess the other way of looking at it, did anyone expect much from ambrosetti and de lucas.

Bogarde was a big coup from barcelona and a decent dutch international (or so we thought). We paid big wages to get him on a free and he decided to eat himself silly and sat on the reserves.

Who the **** were ambrosetti and de lucas before we bought them? They were cheap, reflecting in their reputations so i'm not sure if i was let down as i certainly wasn't expecting them to be world beaters.

Love Modric. He apparently came up to Newcastle for a medical, had a tour of the facilities and the club wanted to sign him but Keegan reckoned he didn't have what it took then Tottenham swooped in and got him whilst we were deliberating. I know it happens often with players but that one hurts more than most. To watch him play is as good as any player of his generation to be honest, despite everything he's won I still think he's under-rated - will people talk about him in 20 years? I think not and yet there's much bigger names in world football who frankly, in terms of footballing ability, aren't worthy to lace his boots.

Got to agree with Tel here. In a big club Pogba would be a great player.

Pogba is the type of player you build a team around, his ego is that big he needs to feel like the main man.

Also, play to his strengths as opposed to trying to get him to be something that he isn’t. He’s not a DM or a deep lying midfield player, he needs to play further forwards and have licence to get into the box, as he can create and finish.

Gareth Hall was a youth product and he wasn't a bad player but he existed at the time of Steve Clarke who limited his chances at Chelsea. Went to youz guys didn't he?

If you don't go up we'll be playing you again. Don't know why but I always had a soft spot for Charlton after that play off final.

I'm having a bet tonight. What's your chances of an upset at Shrewsbury, tonight?
