Mike Ashley wants to bring youth in to NUFC and build a solid team for the future, or just get young, good players and sell them off when they blossom into world class stars i.e Tiote ( Not that he has/will be sold ). But if he is serious about getting the best young talent from around the world, i took it on myself to do a bit of scouting. Fair enough my PS3 is knackered but what the hell. So here we go. . Ahmed Musa ( Winger ) - 18 years of age and is regarded as Nigeria's hottest talents, he currently plays for VVV- Venlo and has bagged 5 goals in 16 games for the dutch side. Also he has 4 caps for the Nigerian national team, scoring 1 goal. Leroy Fer ( Midfield ) - 21 years old, currently playing in Holland for Feyenoord. He has the nickname " The Bouncer " for his strong, physical presence. Despite being 21 he has already made over 109 appearances scoring 13 goals and has since played in the Netherlands national side. Marcus Pedersen ( Striker ) - 20 years old, currently playing for Vitesse, he looks like a promising player. Since being at Vitesse he has made 13 appearances scoring 5 goals and his record for the Norway U21 is brilliant, 4 games, 3 goals. Kolbeinn Sigþórsson ( Striker ) - 21 years old, current playing for AZ Alkmaar. Since breaking into the AZ first team and making over 30 appearances he has scored 15 goals and in the Iceland national team he has scored 3 goals in 5 games. Theres 4 players who i believe we should be at least having a look at, but with Graham Carr as chief scout i wouldn't be surprised if we are. They all play in the Eredivisie and are good, young players. These seem to be promising from what i've seen and read : Dennis Praet Jordan Lukaku Anyone else know of any young talent out there ?
My only knowledge of him is based on Football Manager, which, albeit fairly reliable, obviously can't be taken as gospel. Left winger who's rated fairly highly, but probably won't get anywhere near the heights of Romelu
All good and well, and a year or 2 ago, we'd have been able to snap youngsters like this up! As it is, would players want to leave European competition level teams to come to a mid-table premiership side...Yes, we have the stadium, the infrastructure and the fans, but as Enrique said, we're not the same club we were when he joined...When you would join to train with the likes of Viduka, Owen and Shearer, now it's Perch, Williamson and Best...
Agree with you to some extent however the absolute failure of Viduka and Owen should be a warning for anyone that moves clubs just to train with 'hasbeen' footballer. Move to better yourself not to admire those you share the training ground with!
