Until someone is arrested or in court, it is best not to name names. Otherwise it becomes trial by rumour. Sadly, won't stop most people posting on various sites. Remember poor Dave Jones....he went through hell.
A fourth ex-Saints youth player makes allegations against same man A FORMER employee of Southampton Football Club accused of abusing young players in the 1980s is still working in the sport, according to reports. BBC Radio 4's Today programme said it understood the former staff member left Saints after concerns were raised regarding his behaviour towards members of the club's youth team. The employee's alleged inappropriate conduct at Southampton included making the young players line up naked in a changing room for inspection, according to testimony from an unnamed former player now in his 40s. The programme said he was the fourth former player at the club who had come forward with allegations of abuse against the same man. It claimed the staff member went on to work for other clubs and, despite being asked to leave one of them, is still working in the game. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/149...th_player_makes_allegations_against_same_man/
From the article: Chelsea Football Club has apologised "profusely" to former footballer Gary Johnson over sex abuse he suffered as a youth team member in the 1970s. Mr Johnson, 57, told the Mirror on Friday that the club paid him £50,000 to keep quiet about allegations of sexual abuse by a former chief scout. In a statement, Chelsea said Mr Johnson had "suffered unacceptably" The club said a review into the case would take place, adding it had "no desire to hide any historic abuse" They can **** off and bull **** at not trying to hide it.
Sadly Dave Jones's story reflects the "other side" of child abuse allegations, which can be directed at completely innocent people by those with an agenda. I remember in the 1980's there were a whole load of parents accused in the Orkneys after children were interviewed by people asking leading questions, to which the children gave the answers the social workers wanted to hear. None of the many charges resulted in convictions. In the same way, Merseyside police were found to have led Dave Jones' accusers to implicate him unjustly. Fran is absolutely right, no one should be named on here until they are charged by the police, as if they are guilty, they shouldn't be allowed to get off on a technicality.
This is very shocking and quite hard to fathom how it remained "hidden" for so long but hopefully from this point on everything can be brought to light and justice be served to give those who suffered some sense of justice, although I guess you can never get over something like this even when justice is served. I think the "panorama" piece that people are talking about is the Dispatches investigation in the late nineties. There are also at the moment "conspiracy theories"** suggesting that there may be a link to Gary Speed's death!!! **Something to do with him finishing his autobiography just before his death, which was going to detail a Welsh *****phile ring. It is hard really to comprehend just what might be true or not these days because of what has happened in the past few years with Savile and the whole child abuse thing leading up to this football scandal. Things that would have used to seem far fetched are now being proved real on a mass scale. EDIT: To Beefy, hard to put into words the respect I have for these guys including yourself. Like many abuses it is impossible for someone who has not suffered to even comprehend how it affects you not just at the time but forever. All we ever hear in the news is the word "closure" which I always find very hard to understand because there is never closure. This sort of thing will stay with the victim until they die.
The term ''closure'' makes my blood boil....it's like there can be an end to suffering and grief. If only life was that simple. There can be a moving on and living with it, but there isn't a snappy little finish to things that affect you strongly.
My abuser is dead. Even him dying didn't give me "closure". Not like I can rewind time or erase what happened to me. I hate the term, it's ****.
To be honest I think most on here are being sensible, unlike certain other sites, I think I know who you are referring to, but obviously it needs to be addressed in the proper manner. As has been said, there is the danger of others being falsely accused.
Isn't that we're all doing though? Leaving it be done by the right people in the proper manner. Else he'd have been named here by now. Everyone on this site has commented in a sensible and sensitive way, not even making accusation, just saying they think they know who the person is.
