The Ferriby deal seems to have gone over some people's heads. The aim is to allow our younger players the opportunity of spending some time playing for Ferriby in the Conf North. It is a step up from reserve football and all part of gaining that vital experience at an earlier age. We'd be able to better monitor their progress. I guess Ferriby will gain by sharing some of our facilities and sharing some of our coaches on occasions. Southampton spend something like £4m per year on their youth set-up. Thats the stage we need to get to, but we will need to sell a couple of players from our existing youth pot to get there. We seem to give them away all the time when they don't make the grade for us
I can see AA going his own way and making a joint development for NF and HCAFC, maybe a new ground too. Melton might go from bullshit to heaven ......
When you're talking about academy status you're looking at County Road and the teams there much more than the reserves/development squad.
I havent either. Its a 6-Day trial. I dont know what length a trial normally is 6 days seems kinda short but perhaps it is easy to see if someone has enough to be signed when you are not talking a first team signing.
Oh dear, kempton. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ilthy-beds-sheds-used-illegal-immigrants.html Inside Britain's 'beds in sheds': Shocked Cameron visits squalid building that housed FOURTEEN as he reveals benefits crackdown
And he didn't even visit Slough, the ground zero of sheds with beds. Still, Southall is probably number 2 on that list.
6 days might be short, but it's midseason for a player who features in their matchday squads and it's just before xmas. They won't want to release him when they have a lot of games, and he won't want to be over here for xmas "just in case" we want to sign him when he's alread got a club.
