Its always been that way, Wenger has never seen a penalty or red card given against his side and somehow manages to always see the other team infringe. I dont have respect for nearly all the managers in football. They all blame the ref no matter what. Hughes was a master at that, nothing was ever his fault. Basically they take the fans for idiots when weve watch a dire 90 minutes and they somehow make out we deserved to win. Ferguson was another one, once Ronaldo went down under literally no contact and Fergie said it was still a penalty because he thought he was going to get touched so dived out the way. Thats a special kind of stupidity.
Comment on the BBC Sport Facebook page: "How can honesty be promoted if it's not rewarded". The commenter refers to Coleman staying on his feet for Everton on Saturday, then shooting wide. He is missing the point though. It's not a matter of 'promoting' or 'rewarding' honesty, we need a strong enough punishment to deter dishonesty. For me, it should be treated the same as a Professional foul - because cheating to gain a clear goalscoring opportunity is as serious as cheating to prevent a clear goalscoring opportunity. Send a few divers off, and it'll stop.
Exactly, a yellow card versus a penalty and possible red, that encourages diving. I'm sure certain clubs even practice diving. In the NHL, no penalty (or penalties for the foul plus diving which cancel each other out) is given if there is any exaggeration. Diving is not rewarded and any young like efforts result in the player only getting a penalty.
I see in the European Cup highlights that Neymar dived again for a penalty, that Messi converted, and the AC Milan player was also yellow carded.
Here is the dive. He is actually really **** at diving so I don't know how he gets them. This one is exceptionally pathetic: And here is the legendary one against QPR. Note the lack of contact, the fact that he was offside and the fact that the referee has a brilliant view (you can see him perfectly in one of the angles):
Watching Arsenal's excellent win at Dortmund last night, I couldn't believe just how much Lewandowski was diving. He really is a twat.
Neymar and Young are two cheating ****s of the highest order, from the same mould. All diver should be slapped with 3 game suspension for every dive they make, that would cut them out.
Neymar takes it the extra step, he does the rolling about that even Young would be embarrassed about. That clip of him being touched and literally jumping 3 feet in the air is hilarious. Refs should just not give anything except the most blatant fouls, we had one of them against Birmingham a few years ago and it was great. He gave about 5 FKs all game. Seeing Neymar booted to kingdom come would be far more entertaining that seeing him score.
