True...maybe it's a faulty yank gene. The rest of us responded to mass shootings by restricting guns in society. They react by going out and buying more after each shooting.

People whinge that it's the NRA' money and influence over us politicians but they only have that money because US Joe Bloggs keeps buying the guns...

Had a convo with a yank who was an intelligent and decent man in all aspects until talk of guns. He genuinely believed and criticised me for not wanting one as "putting my family at risk".

He refused to accept more people died by their own weapon than it being used to prevent crime. Said when I got burgled I should remember him.

I asked how many times he'd been a victim of crime he said none but that's because he had a gun...locked up in his house..? Refused to answer how it would help him if he was mugged sitting in his house or how it would stop him getting burgled if he was carrying it outside?

There's no logical argument can defeat mental illness outside of psycotherapy and that's what it is...fear and paranoia.

It's understandable that if you're aware that so many others have guns that you might fear you're at a disadvantage and want to bring yourself to their level.
They just don't seem to get that it's the proliferation that's the problem and actually makes you less safe.
It's a deep seated issue, and one I can't see being resolved at all unless they have some sort of collective epiphany - something I don't ever expect to see.

Gun owners and apologists are stupid... And selfish. Their "boo-hoo I need a gun" results in people dying every day... With no positive contribution to society.


The "protection" angle is stupid too. In all 50 states you're more likely to be a victim of violence if you own a gun than if you don't.

Reason: the false confidence owning a gun gives you makes you make stupid decisions when confronted with criminals.

Failure to secure a firearm.



That's three crimes right off the top of my head. Yes she deserves jail time. But even more importantly... Those are three charges that should remove her license to own firearms.
