True but I think its because were playing higher up the pitch and not inviting them to try and play through us so much. really i don't know, had turner been fully fit against Fulham I think we would have stood a better chance of a clean sheet and before they scored and moved to 60 minutes of 9-0-1 we were creating good chances. At least we proved to our delve that we can score goals today hopefully some confidence will grow from that at least.
I think that was the biggest problem under Hughton. He just made them so focused on the defence that they forgot to do anything in attack, and so had to spend more time defending and that meant they made more mistakes.
And here's one of the hornets! No, I have taken a vow of silence on Hughton after my reaction to yesterday's game. To the future, and at least 4 points from the last 3 games!
I didn't.Not because I thought he was especially good as a manager, just that I thought it an odd time to do it.It was a good performance yesterday apart from the opening ten minutes and if the luck had been equal then we would have got a point. In one five minute spell towards the end the referee gave Liverpool two goal kicks that were actually corners and didnt give a free kick for a foul on Snodgrass on the edge of the area that was more like a yellow card. You can't really fight against that sort of reffing.Having said that of the three contenders Liverpool are the one I want to see win it.
Just to set the record straight Snodgrass should not even have been on the pitch after his attack on Allen. Back to what I cam to say. Well played, it was squeeky bum time there for a while. All I can see is keep putting the same effort in and just hope for the best. You can't influence the results around you but you can try and influence your own! Maybe in your favour - the United that turned up at Everton, you could turn-over and by the time you play Chelsea their league season could be dead and gone! As Churchill said - Keep Bugering On
after your last 2 performances, it would not surprise me at all if Norwich got a draw or beat man utd(ffc drew there) and beat arsenal at home, 36 should do it for you, so to not sound patronising at all, i hope you don't do it for obvious reasons, sunderland look the most likely team to stay up now. but you just never know, its been a crazy season
I have to say that I think we are down now and I hope it's Sunderland that stay up.Those last two performances mean that they have earned it.
Even if we can get one win, the teams below us are starting to play better and pick up points and got more winnable games than us. So realistically I don't think we can stay up.
I agree on sunderland they deserve to stay up, but they could choke at home, they have only won 3 at home all season, they could win 2 and lose 2 from last 4 and end up on 35 points, 2 weeks ago it looked a straight shoot out between ncfc and ffc, more twists and turns yet
I agree, not sure my heart can take it, I just want ffc to be a point clear coming to the last game of the season, not going to be that way I know, it beats a boring mid table finish, I think ffc will go down, after the ncfc game it just showed me how poor we are. our goal difference backs that up
yes but who is say teams will win there winnable games, sunderland won there un winnable games, might they lose there winnable games? they have done so far
Thanks for posting FT, good to hear from well balanced supporters from other clubs. There is sure to be some twists and turns yet.
Yes, really. "You should be very proud" If that's not patronising then I don't know what is. Do you think we are team or a group of fans that seeks your approval? I don't care if you think we should be proud or not, and I don't need to be told so. I wonder if your praise would have been forthcoming if we'd won?
And if anyone doesn't think it is patronising, imagine the response if we had put a similar article on the Liverpool board if we had just beaten them.
