You R’s - expectations for 2021/22 season

I think Johansen would be the key signing. If we can nail him we will be right in the mix next season...

 

I'd pretty much expect the top two places to be taken up by two of the three relegated sides if their squads aren't pillaged by PL sides, most probably Fulham and WBA. That leaves the play-offs, and you'd imagine those sides in those slots this year to be up there fighting for those places alongside the third relegated side - can we sneak in there? If we continue our recruitment in the way we hope, keep the players we've got and can get Johansen in the door then we could well be in the mix.

Interesting summer up ahead...

 

Struggle to see Amos as a replacement for Johansen. I thought Amos was at his best used as a ball winning presser in the 10 position in front of the midfield in a 4 2 31 or similar. He is going to take time to get back to the fitness needed in that demanding role, and not sure how he'd fit into how we played the last half of the season. For me Carrol is a closer replacement but not as good in the ball winning, tackling, physical part of Johansen's game, or goal scoring.

Read rumours coming from Ipswich Twitter, so obviously true, that Dozzel is coming to us maybe as exchange for Bonne. Apparently he is more the Johansen type of player, only 22.

Bastards are now saying ‘new’ STs with old gits discounts start at 61! I’m too ****ing young!

On the grounds that I will be 61 during the season I am going for it anyway.

Having looked at the small print looks like I won’t get away with it. Bit mean. And I think I will be caught in this for several years as they gradually raise the age limit to 65.

 

Bit like the old age pension......always just out of reach.....

 

Apologies in advance, I have purchased a season ticket (full price despite my advancing years) which will doubtless herald a dramatic downturn in form accompanied by frustration, anger and depression for all. Sorry.
