Back in 1999, Man Utd won the treble. In the same end of season trophy haul Man City won a play off to get into what is now The Championship. I ran into a long time friend and United season ticket holder who told me that City's promotion had ruined his season!

Today feels like that. Just beaten United and Lallana score a late winner for Liverpool. Gutted!

Any other extreme responses?

Actually smugger than a smug man with a PhD in smugness!

I was at that play off final at Wembley, they were very lucky on the day coming from 2 down very late on, then winning on penalties. Wonder if they would be where they are now if that result hadn't happened.

Anyway, nothing can dampen a saints victory at old Trafford,

Spuds and saints rejects may have won, shame pompey lost.:emoticon-0140-rofl:

Cheers, mate. I was in a pub surrounded by Liverpool fans telling me that they're great. Not a United fan in sight. Time to change pubs?
