Convinced lately that Suarezz bite at the WC was an intentional premeditated act to ensure a transfer to Barca that he knew was going to happen. I reckon he just didn't bank on a domestic ban
16 years ago a team mate of mine who was heading for trials with with 6 pro clubs 2 in scotland 1 in holland 2 in england and 1 in france, lost the head during a match and bit an opponents ear off. Proper chunk gone not skinned like tyson did to holyfield. Anyway he was convicted of assault causing harm in a circuit court and sentenced to community service, 15000 to be paid in compensation and "banned from playing any type of organised soccer match worldwide" with the threat of prison if he broke those conditions. An appeal was launched and the appeal judge heard how it could lead to a loss of earnings and football could keep him on the straight and narrow etc. The appeal judge threw it out and the original sentence stood. The same guy is now ****ed on drugs ... what couldve been if he didnt turn cannibal.
That's a real shame. Sport has been a life-saver for countless people. I feel sorry for the lad he bit as well, mind
That doesn't make any sense, mate. Just think about it - he tried to get himself banned from international football so Liverpool would sell him? What? Would have made him more invaluable knowing he wasn't pissing half way around the world every other month o international duty, but I think SG has written something agreeing with you, so I could be in the wrong. Don't know if he did it to knock his price down though: after the general consensus in the media this it was £75m, I notice the Guardian, when serialising his story, knocked it back down to £65m. If that is the case I really have lost any respect for him, though I will always say that he was thoroughly stitched up by the FA over the length of that ban.
