you boys seem to be of the opinion that the premier league money will bring unbelievable amounts of cash. well, in terms of the championship its a huge difference - but you'd need to stay up for two years without spending a drop of it just to clear your current debt. face it - you had to get promoted quickly or it would end up being a mess.
supers I think thats because no-one really cares. Unless you have Marcus Evans' management accounts and business plan in front of you looking up on the Internet isnt going to tell you a lot. As guru has correctly pointed out we're not technically in debt to anyone. Marcus Evans has taken the debt on and no doubt he'll take it back out at some point. I know you still trade in cattle and livestock up there but i think you'll find it's called business.
I don't like seeing teams going into administration, but they do seem to have it coming. How ironic it would be if the binners entered administration as 1p5wich fans were taking the piss out of Pompey fans last week because of their situation.
Yes that's been proven by our having gone under from being in the Championship for ten years hasn't it. What a plum.
total and utter bullshit!! seriously, are you insane???? do you really think someone would give you free money???? you are unbelievably deluded
Its an epic fail because he was dissing the plan. You lot got lucky, simple as that and you rode that luck which we applaud you. but that was all it was, luck. you probably will get one more season of premiership football, again we applaud you, but as yesterday has shown, teams has sussed you out, the refs have sussed out the great lump up front (please see his yellow card yesterday), next season will be a hell of alot harder than this.
That's the Lambert of God. But seriously, do you not know how to write a coherent sentence? Is it sexually what? You can't end a sentence with an adverb like that. Also we owe money to Delia, who has said she doesn't want to call in her debt, to help the club. From what i read about ME he doesn't seem so club minded. Also there are ways he can cut and run even if it is an inter company debt. Also the difference between our plan and yours is that we are well ahead of ours. You are not, and don't look to be on schedule any time soon. How long do you think honestly thing ME will wait?
No, its business. i.e. somebody could buy a business on a hunch they are about to get a big contract, so then when the big contract comes in you have a business that is worth 3 times what you have bought it for.
We got lucky last season? Considering you have no recent knowledge or experience of the Premier League, you seem to know quite a lot about it.
It's a question, relating to the question beforehand. If it's too hard for you. ask mummy when you get home and i'm sure she will help you.
Could a norwich mod possibly change the title of this thread to the "Lets talk about Ipswich towns debt **OFFICIAL** " ?
Guru I think it's fair to say that every club in the Champoinship has a business plane starting at 1. "Get into Premiership" 2. "Become solvent again" Our plan was over seven years (albeit from a starting point a div lower than you) and thankfully we are way ahead of schedule. Regardless of this I beleive that we had a sounder financial footing and would be in a stronger position to survive than you currently are. We were lucky that we had a great manager, good players and momentum and entered the championship when there were no huge fish down there in a position to dominate the division. Similarly I concede that we are fortunate that the EPL has a significant number of weak teams which has left us in the happy position of being practically safe in March. Sadly for Ipswich this is not the case. I think the Championship is stronger and whichever teams come down will not be in the state that the likes of Hull/Burnley etc were which makes your job much harder next season (assuming that you don't manage to scrape up through the play-offs!). Good luck - I think you may be needing it.
guru, won't it be luck if ipswich go up? i mean, at least we have a plan and we just happened to have done things quicker than were expected! thats not really luck - thats planning. a little bit of luck is always required but if ipswich go up it won't be down to clever thinking. ipswich don't seem to have a plan. the plan was (as told by your CEO) 'operation premiership' in two years from takeover. hows that going again?
