oh, i totally agree kio, but i'm just curious as to the fine they will receive, or if derby will feel they have a case against them maybe for breaking the rules?
It's a big IF, but IF my understanding is correct, they could well face a fine in excess of £50m - that would put a dent in the TV money.
i suppose that much of that would be pending, like man city's was. i know something needed to be done but they really have balls'd this ffp stuff right up!
Fines are no good these wealthy owners can afford almost any fine. Docked points, relegation or to be denied promotion is the only way but that won't happen because somebody, somewhere is banking all that 'fine' money
I was reading something about that on the BBC website this morning and couldn't understand what they were on about.
Should QPR remain in the Football League, they would face a transfer embargo until such time as they could "demonstrate they were on track to record acceptable losses or profit". However, if they are promoted to the Premier League, they would be subject to a fine. A club is allowed to lose up to £8m without sanction. Above that level, there is a sliding scale on the next £10m of losses, with a maximum fine of £6.681m. Once losses exceed £18m, the fine is imposed on a strict pound-for-pound basis. So, should there be an overall loss of £30m, the Football League would be left chasing almost £19m. If it was £50m, the figure would be nearly £39m and if QPR were to match last year's loss, their fine would be almost £54m
If I've remembered this correctly, that fine is then spread between the clubs remaining in the league. That £2m or so would probably make a interest payment on Ipswich's debts...
Best team lost, but there is a silver lining, you can watch QPR be the Premier League's new whipping boys next season, I cannot wait for the Swans to stuff them and take 6 points from the little upstarts!!....................
I would like to think it would make the league easier for us, but I doubt it. We were terrible this season and really deserved to go down. If we're being honest QPR are quality as many of the other sides down in the Championship. We can't take that for granted.
You've missed one stat, the only one that counts. Perhaps it didn't make it over to Thailand? Anway, here it is. GOALS Derby 0 QPR 1
It's good to be optimistic, but let's be real. QPR got the results when it really mattered. We can't say the same. We were dire all season. Let's face it, We have no history and Ipswich are much better than us. We're just a nothing team from Norfolk. Not looking forward to next season.
and to think you created a new account to wum, it only took 2 posts but you managed to fully expose yourself, now run along
