So you always need a manager who uses the profile/style of player setout by the committee?

A total crock, how many fly by night chancers will Liverpool look at once Rodgers is pumped?

He was not a Rodgers signing. There is no way this numpty can fit into the Swansea Way of playing as he's one of the laziest strikers I've ever seen in the PL. Rodgers wanted Bony not Balotelli. The committee (imo) blocked the move for Bony because the wanted a 'more marketable name' in Mario, while Bony would have been a perfect fit.

Makes you wonder what type of man Rodgers really is then. If there is nobody better for Liverpool than him... or 150% he will still be at Liverpool next season...Or if the owners want him gone he will go....

Why then say 100% Mario will not be a Liverpool player and then be part of the comittee that sign him<laugh>

Not really - Bony wanted £150k plus wages. That's why we didn't go in for him.

Yes - that's how it works. Because the 'manager' isn't a manager. He's a first team coach. His role is simply to develop, and improve the resources at his disposal and worry about the tactics and coaching.

Plus your genius medical team who turned down Remy due to some "heart condition".
He was half the price of Balotelli too.
Are these medical guys also on the committee?

You didn't get him because you tried to get him for £12 million and Huw Jenkins told your club to get stuffed. If you'd have put a bid in of £20 million you'd have got him. Instead, you wasted 3 million on Lambert and 16 million on Mario.
The owners need to realise that this summer you will have to pay a premium and should just pay whatever it costs, rather than money pinching to save a couple of quid here or there.
Look at Martinez, he wanted Lukaku, no fuss, no haggling, just paid the £32 million that Chelsea wanted to ensure they got their target.

Right, Brendan is a first team coach<ok>

So he shouldn't be in the running for manager of the year in the future......I don't think he will BTW as he is gash

Makes you wonder if this is the reason Roberto Martinez turned you down after being flown out to the owners house for talks before joining Everton? Either way, for the sake of your club, I think there needs to be more clarification on who has the final say on transfers.

Disagree. A manager should have complete control over all footballing issues on and off the field with regards to the first team squad. He should also have final say on transfer targets coming in. Trouble with these businessmen is that they know bugger all about football yet come across as experts.
Could you really see Klopp or Ancelotti (the stature of managers you should be aiming for) bending over to old men who call the game 'soccer'?

Remy's heart condition is well known and almost stopped a transfer of his earlier in his career. We are though, I think, so far the only club to turn him down because of it. Maybe because of our experiences with Doni? The question is also why we seemed to only realise at the last minute that he had it.

Man, we could have used Remy this season (assuming he would have stayed fit).

There were several players lined up, Remy and Eto'o who'd passed the medical, being two more. Who knows why Balotelli was chosen maybe to be a fan's favourite, in fact he's the only player I can remember who had a song already made up for his first appearance.

It wasn't his heart condition that put us off <ok>

This, along with his marketability potential if he was a success. The trouble is, everyone knew this signing would go tits up as bigger, far more successful and experienced managers have failed to control the idiot. I think BR freezing him out is a sign of him sticking two fingers up at the committee who signed him tbh.

Remy has done pretty well for us, 21 apps, 7 goals, especially when you consider most of this apps were as a sub with 15 mins left.
I bet his goals to minutes ratio is pretty good.

They would only need to do it for a season as once they'd get back into the CL, their standing in the game would rise to where it should be imo.
