Morning butts, well what a shock day yesterday was! My initial reaction was WTF have they done, then a sickly feeling, a bit like getting a rabbit punch to the throat and a knee in the ballsack at the same time, ( like playing flanker or 2nd row ), but such a shabby way to dump him off. The guy is a legend here and 95% of the fans are furious with the owner, ( who admits he knows nothing about football ), so who is advising him God only knows. Robins has given us all the best times I can remember in recent memory, 4 wembley trips, play-off final and FA Cup semi v Manure, plus promotions, great players and some brilliant perfomances, all memories for me and the boys forever. The new owner has said we're going down a new route from now on, so management by committee with lots of different coaches in the dug-out on ipads, and the new guy will be head coach, not manager!! Robins looked increasingly isolated and maybe had his authority diluted by all this sh1t, so we need to see who steps into this madness now. I think we have just destroyed 8 years of progress, both on the pitch and off, as Robins reunited fans, players and Club in a way no-one has for many years. I think we have signed out own death warrant for this season, but who knows, maybe it is the right thing, only time will tell, but so far the frontrunner at the bookies is Frank Lumphard, so I'm not confident. foa Maskey :- only in your dreams, pal! (no offence ) hahahahaha
Hard times for Robins and the fans Robbie. When I read your comment on 'management by committee', the first thing that sprung to mind was 'after reading that, what competent, experienced manager would want to come and manage your club'? It exceeds the sort of thing Tan comes out with. You have indeed had an exciting few years, as we did several years ago. However, inexperience (incompetence) at board level meant we didn't kick on after that. Indeed, we went backwards and are still paying for it. Fingers crossed you and your club don't pay too dearly for inexperience at the helm. We continually call out for some footballing experience at board level for us. Indeed, we've broken all Cling's percussion instruments in the process. Well, most of them, BfB has broken the others over Reindorf.
[QUOTE="robbiethemole, Robins has given us all the best times I can remember in recent memory, 4 wembley trips, play-off final and FA Cup semi v Manure, plus promotions, great players and some brilliant perfomances, all memories for me and the boys forever. /QUOTE] Not forgetting masterminding three 1-0 victories over the real CCFC! Seriously, Mark Robins has been great for Coventry, but owners these days at the first sign of a downturn are too quick to blame the manager and expect a 'big name' replacement will turn things around. PS I am hoping to make our away game against you in a few weeks time - Bluebirds!
Didn’t expect that! Russell Martin yes but not Plug. Not sure which club he’ll turn up at next? The next PL bottom third club to ditch their manager? A Championship club looking for him to do a Forest or abroad? I’m not a gambler but if I was I wouldn’t put any money on him coming to us
