I know, and it's all the fault of the press! Not Yossi. I had only found out he hasn't actually used the words 'racism' or 'antisemitism' today!

This is the reason I say he's not confusing booing with racism: "The booing came from some small part of the Chelsea fans that have been doing it in the last few weeks since I did an interview about Torres. But I don't really get bothered about it." - He doesn't sound concerned with the booing to me.

I've no problem with you using "your lot" my point was that how Spurs fans would react wasn't important to my annoyance that you guys(on here) had done the samething again villainising someone before knowing the facts. I'm not saying you shouldn't defend your fans in the meantime but there's a difference between that and rounding on a player that you already don't like, for footballing reasons, because he's accusing some of your fellow fans of anti-semitism. There's football bias running all through that kind of reaction and it's no wonder we still have people who turn up to football grounds and feel comfortable shouting racist abuse or making racist gestures when fans won't "grass their own" and those that report racial abuse get villainised before there are even any facts known about it. We might like to think we're ahead of the rest of Europe in handling racism at football, and our FA are, but it's these other attitudes that are concerning and as a football fan, I find them embarrassing.

I dunno, why mention it on twitter for all and sundry to see? I just don't see how Bucks didn't hear it being in the stands and Yossi could from the touchline?

Fair enough, totally agree with the 2nd paragraph. And if there was anti-semtitic chanting then the braindead knuckleheaded cretins should be ashamed, although my guess is that they won't be!

OK.. 'grassing' is perhaps the wrong word and apologies for that but at first we all thought it was the booing which would make no sense at all because it wasn't aimed at him. Hence I used 'grassing' because I felt that Yossi complained about us booing him and him then meaning we were being racist. Which wasn't the case at all.

Yet again I'll repeat. We were row 13 in the Chelsea end fairly near where the players were warming up which is when the apparent racism happened because it can't of been during the game as he never came near us. I heard nothing. I remember us all chanting about each player etc praising them but we left out Benayoun but I don't recall any racist comments being made. I see the case is being investigated but it's gunna be hard for them to discipline anyone when people like me who were there heard **** all.

Benayoun can say all he wants about his future but it won't be at this club. What he said about Chelsea when on loan at Arsenal was completely wrong and I know I'll never forgive him. Add to that he isn't a very good player. His contract is up at the end of the season and he'll go along with Rafa.

But I'm no racist in any way at all and I was a bit shocked when someone told me that what I said in the original was racism. It wasn't and I can't see how it is in any way.

If there were boos then it's not hard for it to be drowned out. Just as an example, I went on to the KUMB forum to have a quick browse about what West Ham fans were saying a few days after they played at White Hart Lane and quite a lot who said they were at the game were denying the reports of hissing yet several others said that it was audible and distinguishable amongst the "sshhhing" that they disguise it in with and that's what I and some other Spurs fans too heard and saw(you can see from their facial expressions too whether they're making a hiss or a shh). Anyway this argument has moved away from the anti-semitism so don't think that's why I brought it up, it was just the best example I could think of for people not necessarily hearing abuse from fans around them, especially if there are boos ringing out around it.

Bucks, point well made <ok> We might not agree on this but that Astroturf guy is a prat, I take it you got that racism accusation in a negative rep? We banned him from our board because all he did was read our posts and neg rep us without contributing.

Yeah it was through negative rep. He has though apologised after seeing my explanation which is fair enough. Anyway I've got a bag to pack! Basel here we come!
