Lately there seems to be abit of Yoshida bashing after the games, personnally I can not see what the problem is. He is now settled, playing in his position and probably most important is that Shaw does not leave him out to dry as Fox was inclined to do. I understand that he sometimes loses the ball when bringing it out or his passing may be off at times, but that is surely better than lumping it into row z as we are a passing team and every team player mis places passes. In the last 6 games with Shaw beside him we have conceeded only 4 goals which is the best in the Premier along with stone wall Stoke and suprisingly Villa. We will need to bring in probably a couple of CBs but they will have to be something special to displace Yoshie

To me he has only looked good against teams that can't attack.

think he's been one of our better players in the last few games, he was great against spurs in the second half for example.

He looks better than he did, but he's still the one guy in that back line who worries me - especially when he's on the ball.

Along with Gazzaniga/Davis/Boruc, he is the only person in our XI I would like us to sign a decent-level replacement for next month.

I think we under estimate the timer it takes to settle in a new country and in let's face it was a losing team low on confidence. I think he will improve as the season progresses. Still need some back up though!

A lot of this "bashing" is due to the Swansea goal I think. Recently he's been good, but I think he'll be shifted to the bench in January when we bring in a centre back or two.

probably, but that doesnt make sense really. paulo shouldnt have played the ball out to him and he should have saved dyer's shot as well.

And that was mainly Gazzaniga's fault! I think he's improving. He's quite young as well, 24 I think, and he's adjusting to life in a new country and playing in the PL.

Yoshida is always improving, forming a good partnership with Fonte ... I'm not understanding the Yoshida bashing, oh yeah wait he's not a household name

I like him, seems decent enough on the ball and isn't afraid to run into space with it. My only qualm is when he comes up against big physical strikers, he seems to struggle a little.

Saying that he did okay against Holt.

That's really stupid, none of our players are household names.

I don't think he's very good, personally. Worst on our backline and should certainly be upgraded. To suggest you'd need to be "special" to displace him is saying that Yoshida is very nearly special himself, which is absurd.

.... my only concern with him is he could do to be three inches taller. It makes a lot of difference, three inches.

Yeah Maya isn't great, but he's massively better than Seaborne, and Jos seemed to hit self-destruct too often early in the season.

He could cover capably, but we still need to improve our defence.

Perry was a good player in his day - as a CB, he`d have benefited by be taller though. How tall is Yoshida, out of interest ?
