The fact that they weren't interested in buying City was absolutely no reflection on the size of their testicoli.
What?! Good lord no Ern, no no no. He's made out of finest porcelain. I think. Maybe some resin type stuff. He sounds clinky when you tap him, so...actually no frigging idea. He is NOT plastic. Hand painted too I reckon.
Anyone know much about Ian Richardson who was supposed to be interested in investing in City when Allam bought the club? http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Undefined-Headline/story-11972767-detail/story.html
I like to defend the Healy's as I know the family. They have supported City in the past without makng their donations public - particularly when we were in the absolute ****e..... Simply put they don't want the all the media and public interest that comes with owning a football club. It is a shame but you can't blame them for that point of view....
Understandable I'd say If I won the lottery enough times to be that rich I probably wouldn't want to either
Are you having a laugh? How long have you been supporting City? Don't you know the history? The Healys were interested once but saw the abuse the Needler family got and therefore wouldn't touch the club with a bargepole. One of the Healy brothers used to have to go in disguise when he went to watch City. If they invested £100m into the club there would be some saying it wasn't enough. Plus all the aggravation from other sporting clubs in the city, from professional to amateur, all coming knocking on the door excepting backing 'because you sponsor City'
You said "they could be enjoying all this abuse at the moment". I take it you were referring to the abuse Assem Allam is getting but I don't see why the Healeys would get similar abuse if they were in charge of City. You seemed to be implying from your biased position, that Allam only gets abuse because he's the owner of Hull City rather than because of the things he's done and is still doing. I don't remember Adam Pearson getting abuse, why do you think that is?
I have only known City's owner's since Harold Needler and despite all the money he personally put into the club in players and stadia, the word around the city was that City do not want to go up ( into the First Division) because it would cost too much. Meaning he wasn't putting enough cash in. His brother, Christopher, was a reluctant 'owner/chairman' when Harold died, probably out of family loyalty, and IMO he was there as a custodian of the ground ( which they owned). Point being the Needler family then received a lot of abuse as the club crashed down the leagues. Every other owner of the club since has received abuse. Adam Pearson being the exception. He received the abuse from fans of Hull FC who claimed he shouldn't be chairman/owner of City and the SMC and the same time because they were convinced they were getting a raw deal. Adam Pearson is also a very skilled operator in the public relations department and I wish we had his sort at the club today, with a splash of Don Robinson's flair for positive publicity and getting the club in the headlines for the right reasons. Now we hear FC fans asking for Pearson to take over the SMC despite him being FC's owner. Meaning you cannot win. The Healy brothers name had been linked to the club several times over the years, mostly in hope then in reality. They do not court publicity or do interviews but in one rare one they did say owning the club ( or any club for that matter) is not on their agenda and Hull City in particular because they had seen the abuse the present owners get. I believe they have a box at Manchester United. Football without the hassle. Also you are implying that I am biased? Have you ever considered that you are, indeed, biased yourself? I am not at all biased ( except when its a football v rugby league argument and that I admit to).
I'm not going to defend Hull FC fans' logic, but talking about City it seems we agree that APs level of popularity was because of what he did and didn't do. The same is of course true of the Allams and every other owner. The fact we've had an incredible number of **** owners doesn't reflect on the fans and it doesn't mean any particular one of them deserves immunity from criticism.
