Don't follow you. We need cover for Phillips. Forshaw proved a number of times that he's not capable. Oddly enough, I could see Shackletom fill that role, but he's a wee bit short for falling back into the aux CB position.
Just meant, was this done as trial to see if he is capable of filling in for KP in case of injury or is Radz ready to cash in on KP IF we think McCalmont might be able to step up.
Wouldn't think so. Then who would be backup for McCalmont if that was the case? And understudy he might be, but can a youngster be expected to fill such a key role for a whole season? Nope, just think it's progression for him. Simple as that.
Not had a Cricket update from you for a while, how's it going. Skippy, home & away, castlemain xxxx, Neighbours, your boys took one hell of a beating ENGLAND
Hope you're right WJ but I have a seriously sinking feeling about this transfer window (after a real high with Costa - maybe the PR team should have included Pontus being picked up and taken to London by the coffee delivery bloke??) and starting to have a sinking feeling for the coming season. Sorry, don't see a win against York as a reason for optimism for promotion.
You've obviously missed a lot of our pre-season games against sh1te opposition over the years - especially the first outings. I am very confident we'll have a great season with the current squad. Promotion? Would be nice, but not the be-all or end-all for me. I'm back in love with football, and that's what's important to me. I guess it's a bit like being in love with Raquel Welch & being happy enough with that. Giving her one would have been a huge bonus, of course! Am I giving my age away here?
I get what you're saying that it was only York etc etc but I went to the pre season friendly a year ago at Southend and we were awful. Disjointed and out of sorts, and things didn't bode well for the season ahead. And although admittedly Southend play at a higher level than York, it was I think our third friendly game and you'd have expected more cohesion and all round fitness - things that were already in evidence last night. I think this squad as a whole is so much more improved and closer-knit than it was twelve months ago.
London, I said last night it was just a revelation after the recent and potentially upcoming doom to see that we still have the bedrock of a cracking side irrespective, and more strength in depth than last year across the entire squad. I know it was only York, but it was very good. Many of our first team will be looking over their shoulders this year. Stay positive bud.
I'm supposed to be mr negative but I'm not this season For some reason I'm expecting to see good football from LU Will we get promoted not sure will I be disappointed if we don't yes. Pre season games don't mean anything for the fans really it's just an excersise for the players and manager. All we can do is sit back and enjoy the ride. Ps I have been known to change my mind but do like to give any team time to show their worth.
Could have been better but we'll get you when we're playing proper cricket and not all wearing pyjamas
