Not anti Ranieri, I didn't back his appointment like I said but have backed him as our manager. NP had total control over signings, Steve Walsh done the scouting. Pearson has gone and went over a month ago. I do show support else I wouldnt have bothered renewing my season ticket for the 12th consecutive year. And if were quoting Milan Mandaric can we do it correctly please. Its if you can't support us go to the pub
So the fact we are prepared to offer silly wages is Ranieri's fault???? I'm pretty sure he has no involvement at all in regards to the financial aspect of completing a transfer.
Yes Ranieri does have a say in that. We had a wage cap of £30K a week last year and offered more then double that for Aranguez Ranieri is picking targets that will easily break our current wage structure. I much prefer us looking for the next big thing and signing players like Kramaric, Mahrez, Knockaert rather then trying to throw money at 28 year old who aren't that bothered about coming here Sven offered stupid wages to journeymen who didn't care about the club, money doesnt guarantee us a good player or success. I thought we learnt these lessons in the past but it seems not. Our promotion season and great escape was built on a team pulling in the right direction. Any new signings had to buy into that and Cambiasso did Ranieri has to be very careful not to destroy the team spirit
"I didn't want to leave Atalanta but €8m is a lot for them", sounds like they want/need the money and told him to go. That's not what I'm saying at all. QPR stayed up the other season. They then signed one of the worlds best goalies (at the time - Julio Cesar) and a RB who had just won the Champions League (Bosingwa) amongst others - players who clearly had no real interest in playing the QPR... And were comfortably relegated. I want us to sign players who want to come here. And I don't mean, people who grow up dreaming of playing in a Leicester shirt, I'm not that naive. But we shouldn't be offering 4 times as much as another club, to try and attract someone here. It totally sends out the wrong message.
Do you work for the club Proud? You seem to " know" a hell of a lot about how things are run down there.
I seem to remember Neil Lennon saying almost the same thing when he left us to go to Celtic! He told us how much he loved the club the fans and Leicester will always be in is heart most players who leave a club that they have been with for a while say the same thing, it makes them feel better. Like dumping a girlfriend to go to a better looking one.
Never claimed to know more then anyone else on here. It a case of listening to the club when they talk and listening to some of the media. Ambition is great but you still have to punch at your own weight first. We still need to establish ourselves in the Premier League before we throw money around likes there's no tomorrow. I want 11 players on the pitch giving their all for our club from the first minute until the last, people who care about our club and want to improve the club standing aswell as their own. Cambiasso seen us as a challenge not a pay day Benlouane seems to be coming here because he doesnt have much choice, We throw stupid money at Aranguez and he isn't proven at all. He might be a very good player for Chile but its a totally different game in South America to Europe and the Premier League At the end of the day we all want whats best for the club but have different ideas on how to do that. Verbally attacking other fans because they see things different is very short minded
No one has a problem with him leaving a nice message to the fans. Anthony Knockaert left one for us and so did Cambiasso Like Jack Lesterfan says its the line where is says its too much money for Atalanta to turn down. It makes it sound like they have received an offer and shoved on the first flight here against his will
Are you implying we are buying a slave or something as from what you are saying, he has no choice where he can live or work. We must have been sparing the whip for Aranguez not to join us then
FTAO Proud/Jack & fellow " The End Is Nighers " You spout on about the clubs wage structure of £30 grand a week? Really? I ask 1. How the **** do you know for sure this is STILL the case? 2.Do you in all honesty believe Estaban was on £30K a week ? 3. Did you hear/read what he said to the Inter fans when he left and us when deciding not to renew his contract ? You may also be aware of our owners ambitions and aspirations for our club, to firstly retain our premiership status & then kick on with the immediate goal of improving our standing in this league, ultimately achieving European football within a couple of years. Well as I see it , we won't improve without trying to improve on what we already have and that might mean we have to spend BIG to do it ! The only way I see the Apple Cart being upset to a degree is if a marquee player comes in on more money but doesn't put a shift in ! Yes , sure it's a risk as is buying any player , ask any Liverpool ( Balotelli ) Man City ( same player plus some ) Man Utd ( Di Maria) fans? We have as a club moved on , it's a shame some posters on here haven't and are quite happy to be a mid to lower end of table club year in year out !
So you are with Jack Lesterfan that we are a **** team and should buy **** players rather then attempt to better ourselves then? Also how do you know that these players won'f give their all?
No one is saying £30K a week is still the case or should be the case. We are in our 2nd season so we can increase the budget but to more then double it? Cambiasso's basic wage may or may not have fit into the wage cap we will never know either way but I suspect he was paid better in bonus rather then basic pay. Yes we have moved on but people need to wake up and smell the coffee if they believe we can compete with champions league teams like Bayer Leverkusen and Marseille. Yes through the owners pockets and tv money we can compete financially with some but on a playing field take the rose tinted specs off.
When has anyone said buy **** players? We can sign Aranguez for £10.5M and he might be dogshit We signed Riyad Mahrez for £400K and look how good he is We went through this with Sven, don't get blinded with price tags and just because the owners have a few bob doesnt mean we should spend tons of it We have a good young squad now and I would rather we added to that and not brought a new one. Or do you just think our current squad is ****? I have faith in the current squad like a suspect a lot of people do or are Kasper Schmeichel, Robert Huth, Jeff Schlupp, Riyad Mahrez, Marc Albrighton, Danny Drinkwater, Andy King, Andrej Kramaric, Leonardo Ulloa and Jamie Vardy all of a sudden **** and need replacing with a high risk gamble?
People need to remember Jamie Vardy come from Non League Fleetwood and cost pittance Jermaine Beckford come from Premier League Everton and cost £4M I know which I would prefer. Don't get blinded by price tags and clubs they play for
If that's what you call them ? I prefer to call them optimistic aspirational glasses but for now I'll remove them as long as you take off your Doom & Gloomers as well as your end is nigh " A" board you walk around with !
