Surely there are clear signs here - despite Masters saying the was no influence from the big clubs - that there were certain teams putting pressure on the EPL to reject/ make sure the takeover didn't go through? Nick De Marco is going to have a field day with these clowns in court now. Do think though that fan's from across the country should be pushing for a governmental review of the EPL and put ALL findings in a public domain so the fans can see how they are being shafted and by who...
I hope Mr Clarke is intending on backing up these threats. So glad they've gone public and they at least appear like they are going to war. I'd love to think this will be a watershed moment in English football, whereby the governance of the game including the top league returns to a central place. The PL has proved to be a categorically terrible idea. The corruption is now at an a level beyond what even the most lenient observers can think is acceptable. However it will simply all blow over, everyone will hug etc. ****ing bullshit. The PL and Masters have been exposed as absolute ****houses in bed with the big sides. There is no coincidence. We don't have a bid prevented, launch a legal challenge that seems to have traction, and then all of a sudden a proposal emerges that contains a veto proposal for said big clubs. Get to ****, they're at it and they've had to be so blatant its not gonna wash. They are simply hoping this threat hanging over the league is enough to make the Saudis walk away given the rumoured cut off point is January.
It's the tantalising crumbs of optimism that are constantly thrown at us that make us persist but as always with this club, they're always just out of reach... No wonder we're all fed up.
Staveley said it back in July and we half believed her, putting it down to sour grapes/disappointment etc but it certainly looks like she was on to something.
REJECTED... Luckily I only see positives in this now, radical shake up of the league and the way the money is distributed, awareness of corruption at the top of the game, evidence of collusion and clubs wanting a say in takeovers mean Nick De Marco only needs to turn up to a court session and pull down the pants of the EPL to get the takeover pushed through if they don't bend the knee to Sheikh Bin Cutyouup, The Rubens and Amanda
She's a bit shifty and representing some pretty shady characters. So its only natural people are suspicious. Its like a microcosm of the world is football. Its just one big ****ing power struggle.
Is it rejected and subject to further discussion though? Just because they only need the threat to remain to get the Saudis to walk.
