Ubuntu or Linux Mint is for you then. Everything works out of the box and they even ask you if you want to install 3rd party codecs during installation. You don't need a great knowledge of coding or command line prompts for Linux these days. I think that is probably the biggest myth that stops people from trying it.
cheeky ****ers..my mate (different one to the one who couldnt start up his phone) swears by mac OS claiming it only costs half of what it does to update compared to windows..thing is though, i can still use everything i currently use if i downgraded to XP..so theres no real need to upgrade OS all the time. apple are just a bunch of thieving pricks
I had Vista on my laptop for about 5 minutes until I found my XP disc. After that I never bothered upgrading my Windows partition as the only time I boot into it is when I want to play football manager so it would be pointless spend money on an upgrade for that.
theres a guy at uni who is a massive apple ***. i rip the piss out of him mercilessly for it. apple is ****e, you cant run anything on an apple machine and everyone thinks you are a posey **** if you have a mac. hi sonly defence is that they are better for creative things. if that is the case then why dont more offices use them instead of autocad and windows?
does FM 11 not run on ubuntu? im on windows 7..downloaded it and i gotta say its fairly good..apart from having the cheek to give me "you dont have permission" error messages now and again when im deleting **** everythings usually hunkydory

Nah it only runs on Windows or Mac. If you work at it I'm sure it would run on WINE on Ubuntu but I have never had any success with that so I just keep a small XP partition for it.
Jesus I hate that sort and my brother is that sort but then he is a graphic designer so he has to have a Mac. When I see people like that I think 'Haha my laptop is a better spec machine and I paid a fraction of what you paid for that'
His boss insists on a his using a Mac. Maybe I should have been clearer, that's why he has to have a Mac. The Gimp on Linux does everything the likes of any software on a Mac or even photoshop can do
