An interesting conversation with some Leeds fans the other day about Neil bringing in our fringe players. the vast majority said mackie! I explained that he is quite prominent in the match day squad so can't be classed as fringe. Its interesting to get views on our players from other fans but they seem to think mackie emphasises what a modern day professional should be like and despite him having limitations i would have to agree with them.
Really worried about Hughes, why the **** didn't he take Diakite off before he got sent off.He had already made 5 horrendous tackles(1 of which i thought could have been a straight red)before he got sent off,Hughes should have replaced him with Derry and we could have had a full compliment for at least 1 match.I'm also fearful he hasn't got the bollocks to drop SWP or Barton,on form alone neither of them deserve their place.Barton is truly disturbing me,his total lack of interest and passing ability is killing us,where is his leadership on the pitch?Just take a look at the new Wolves boss, first game in charge and he drops their captain and arguably their best defender Johnson.Okay they were ****e first half, but their second half performance showed real fight and togetherness,a million miles from anything i witnessed yesterday!
This is exactly what I've been saying on another thread. We need to play players who CARE about the club or at least want to win!! The likes of Derry, Hill and Traore need to play....drop Barton and SWP!!
I don't know that he should or could really take off Diakite after just half an hour when apart from his tackling he was looking pretty good to me - it's easy to say afterwards he should have sustituted him! But what MH, Barton and others should have done was to tell Diakite to take it easy - I didn't see that happening though maybe someone did and Diakite ignored the good advice! I agree with a lot of your summary Col. I'd like to see Hill play CB again with someone quicker than Anton beside him to cover his slowness - Gabbidon I think, unless Young is fit and sharp enough to play RB again and allow Onouha to play CB. Anton does not look good to me at the moment.
As someone who due to personal circumstances and geography doesn't get to see many games, I always look forward to reading your match report Col; makes me feel like I was there in a sort of way, and I like the rating system. Thanks and keep it up!!(Your trademark double exc marks!!)
