Yoshida is a much better defender than jose but jose has played well and deserves to keep his place. Hes probably better in the air than yoshida but i feel yoshida will form a very strong partnership with lovren when he gets his chance. He is excellent at reading the play and made crucial interceptions last season
The problem is, if you are giving ratings, you may give someone a lower score than they deserve because (a) you notice them making a few errors, and (b) other players catch the eye more, leading to their scores being upgraded. This is what happened, certainly in my case, with Jose for the West Brom game. The fact that I rated him lower than others didn't mean I thought he was awful, just that I hadn't noticed him doing anything particularly brilliant in that game. He has always been one of my favourite players, ever since Saints persuaded him to drop down a division from Palace. He certainly has it in him to be a Premier League CB, and he was certainly a lot more composed with his passing yesterday, as well as scoring a vital goal.
