I can appreciate that it took Yannick quite a while to settle when he first arrived, but we persevered and imo, he came through ok in the end . Leicester obviously thought that he was for them, and yet, he doesnt seem to have featured in their first team much at all ? Maybe he might be more injury prone, or it might be that there is a fair bit of quality competition for their c.h places-- dont know , but I do think that Yannick won most of us over once he settled alongside Bed and started getting a few goals ( ok it was 4 in 72 games, - VVD was 4 in 67). I do like a good c.h pairing , Claus + 'killer' took some beating in those Dell days : )
Leicester fans absolutely loathe him. The reason he hasn't played is because he's er....not very good.
Buying Vestergaard back is one of the worst ideas I’ve ever read not just on this forum, but on the entire internet Absolutely useless footballer
ok guys, sorry.... just one old timers personal thoughts. Lets hope we do find a few decent defenders then - only to be sold on within a couple of years if they do prove to be any good.
No need to apologise mate - this is a forum where everyone can share their views. I can kind of see where you're coming from but Rodgers played Amartey who's primarily a midfielder ahead of Vestergaard at CB. He also brought Vesty on when they were 2-1 up v Spurs with about 10mins to go. They lost 3-2.
Sorry mate didn’t mean to be rude and I do respect your opinion! I just can’t stand the thought of watching vesty take 45 minutes to turn around and then miskick it back to the oppo. He did go through an absolutely fantastic purple patch for us at one point, and he he could capture that form consistently it would be a great signing. But unfortunately I imagine he’s only got worse since leaving
If thats the match with Leicester playing at home v Spurs on Wed 19-01-22, Vest played the whole game from start to finsh, for all 97 minutes. Conte brought on Bergwijn in the 79th, and he found the net in the 95th and 97th. Rodgers took off a midfielder and brought on Soumare on 88 mins. that is probably more likely to have caused the late turn around score wise.
No probs Tom, and with a name like 'Sou mare' maybe he would have qualified for a place in our current line up (or what was ! )
I think that's a bit harsh, ok he was very slow turning but on his day he could pick a great long pass and scored some cracking headers. And his Mrs is lush.
