We used to go to a place near there a few years ago for a steak I'll have to ask bill when I see him were it was
Yeah, I imagine Brasov does get cold that time of year. Bucharest is mostly a dump from what I saw but I liked the madness of it all- people living in half-ruined buildings, packs of wild dogs, etc. Ended up drinking in some bar that I can't be sure wasn't just someone's garden that we blundered into but we kept giving them money and they kept giving us beer so everyone seemed mostly happy.
We went to weatherspoons In chesterl le street Four steaks Aberdeen Angus and two bottles of wine £40 The lot Ok not world class but really good value for money Nice mid week tucker
Our lad had the misfortune to go in the wrong bar in Prague with his mates on a stag night and got surrounded by lads with guns and made to pay £819 for 16 pints of lager on their credit cards before they would let them go apart from that he said the fanny was amazing.
I can vouch for that... Plenty of that around, I could give or take a few of them mind, some ****ing stunners though, the kind you just don't forget.
Croatia is a beautiful country and coastline. Well worth visiting. We used to drive down from Prague every summer, different locations each time. Favourite place (to date) was a place called Bol on Brac island. Istria, kvaerner or Dalmatian islands.... Dubrovnik etc. loads of places and g. interesting history. you can make it chilled, or crank it up and party. the fandango is mostly very high quality. nudism also in abundance if you like that kinda thing....
I had flights booked to go to Croatia last month, Bol. Staying at a place called Summertime, if you've heard of it. The beach (zlanty rat?) looked great. Flights were from Stanstead though and the more I thought about it, I couldn't be arsed with the drive down, so I let them go and went to Santorini, which is the most beautiful island I've been to btw. On another note, I've been to Poland over a dozen times. Warsaw, Kielce, Radom and Tychy. Warsaw old town is a brilliant atmospheric place. It was flattened during the war, but they rebuilt it exactly as it was, so it looks ancient but it's not. When I first started going they were very poor, still queueing up for stuff in the shops, but it's changed a lot now. Nice place, nice food, great beer.
Some rather cool info emerging on this thread now. Started off as a piss take but morphed into a cool holiday guide off the beaten tracks.
Went to santorini 30 years ago it was a lovely place It was more expencive than most Greek places It must be expencive for food and drink now
Santorini and Mykonos are super expensive mate, I've never been to either, but the wife wants to go. I'm not sure though, it's gotta be pretty damn good to justify some of their hotel prices and it just looks like there's not a lot going on to me.
We stayed if Fira (the capital) and the prices were far more expensive than any other Greek islands. Typically for a beer and a glass of wine was €13, but quite a bit more in some places. Funnily enough, the restaurants weren't too bad, it was the bars, but we found out the times of all the happy hours The views is Fira are stunning. Quite a few of the bars are built on the cliff, over 1000 feet high and nigh on a sheer drop.
I think there's still a fair amount of them mate, not sure, I've really not bothered looking into it, I know there's also a lot of raging mincers in Ibiza town as well and that's one of my favourite places to go, not for that reason like.
Well worth going mate. I always book flights and accommodation myself so I can do it a bit cheaper. Flights and hotel for me and the wife was £700 altogether. Need a canny bit spending money though, although you can do it on the cheap. I tried to attach a video clip, must be too big. Dunno who that bloke is though....
Well it's definitely not you, he's got a hat for starters. Not my thing at all mate, nice to look at on a picture but essentially you're just going on holiday, on a big wall.
Oh well since there's a flat bit, I'm off to book my tickets this minute... ey love, there's a flat bit, pack your bags I'm not sold mate, but you're not a travel agent so don't worry. I'll avoid it until I'm late 40's then claim it's too steep.
