I was hoping you'd shower me with copious amounts of ingratiating platitudes considering my frightfully accurate foresight in response to a post of yours, on page 7, post 121, midway through the second half. I crave attention Roller, you know that. I require validation on an ongoing basis so as to feed my insatiable ego. I await your response. I know you will not disappoint.
Now I see him, down in the 8's with me - I thought that he was perhaps vying for top spot and I didn't see him up there. Although I now see....
If he had been used correctly from the first minute in England/Chelsea he would be scoring aprox 10 goals a season. Never a defensive midfielder to start with. Watched him break through in the Norwegian league as an attacking midfielder, best player to ever grace our pitches imo. Originaly signed for Manchester United but Chelsea took them to court over ownership rights and won. Some dodgy Nigeria deal with one of the most criminal agents I have ever come across. Mikel was treated only as a piece of flesh, disgusting to watch it unfold as he wasn't the only one. My point is though, if he had gone to United instead (something the player himself desperately wanted), Sir Alex would have used him correctly and he would have been talked about in a whole different way. He would have been one of the best, that I'm 100% sure of. Even after all he has achieved with Chelsea I'm gutted as I beleive a truly God given talent has been wasted in a defensive capacity.
Shocking performance attacking wise, we offered no threat at all. Green, 3 good saves, their keeper didnt make a save all game. Watch the goal tonight, ONeill should have passed about 2 seconds earlier and austin would have been clean through, he was so slow that the defender got back but he managed to get a pen anyway. Good performances, Green, Dunne, Hill, Jenas and Austin who was given an impossible job. As was getting out of the ground where we went 1km in 90 minutes because of a 2 car accident on the other side of the road. Bloody police.
Bloody good report Flyer ... now go get laid and cheer up mate ... Bloody Rossers, and those accident victims ...bloody accident victims bleeding blood and bloody blood bugger
The Radio London commentary made it sound as if we started brightly in an end to end match. Is that how you saw it? Tell us about Jenas, you clearly thought he was worth his place today.
Jenas was at the hub of everything in the 1st half, he looked to pass quick while Carroll and Oneill wanted 3 times as long on the ball and that meant no incisive passes were made. Philips had a great chance to put us 1 up in the 1st 10 mins, we might have gone on to hammer them if that had gone it. Defensively we were fantastic. Attacking wise we are beyond awful. I felt sorry for austin for being so isolated. whats he supposed to do with a ball played up to his head with no one within 30 yards of him? They dominated the 2nd half and would have won if they played a 442 with that massive black lad up front. People are saying we are top of the league, of course we are but everyone would be very, very angry if we didnt get the pen or they got it instead. Also, the ref gave us everything! i take back everything I said about him. We needed a penalty to get a shot on target and the crowd had just started to turn on the players too so the timing couldnt have been better!
Thanks Flyer, it sounds like Redknapp was right to play him ahead of Faurlin. And thanks Sku for the penalty clip.
He deserved to play for sure but I dont think Oneill has. Hes been very poor every time Ive seen him, Id have rather seen Jenas and Faurlin. Carroll and Oneill would be my last choice CM/AMs
Whereas the two boys on London call-in said he's been very impressive every time they've seen him! Everyone has a different opinion about every player. There isn't a hope in hell of forming any kind of consensus. That's why I trust the Manager to know what he's doing.
O'Neil looked stunning when he came on against Wednesday, but has not reproduced that performance as yet. I'm not sure as to his best position but do like his attitude and work ethic. Am I drifting into Jamie Mackie territory here?
That was his debut right? Everyone said he was great but since then hes offered nothing, watch the penalty decision tonight and see how long he keeps hold of the ball. I think hes a CM but has been moved around as we were short elsewhere.
