To be fair, it was only £12, but I paid an extra quid for a seat! A bargain as it was right next to a succulent redhead (that's not the first time this season, either). It's £12 to get in at the Darts as well, so I think that might be fairly standard. It was entertaining, knockabout stuff all right and a decent way to kill a couple of hours but the teams were evenly matched in mediocrity, not excellence - Dartford had a lanky winger who was pretty quick and Welling had a tall black guy with bleached blond hair up front (think Grace Jones) who was great in the air and pretty sharp on the ground, but that was about it. If either of the sides reach the BSB Prem, IMO they'll get absolutely slaughtered.
I am always meaning to go a Dartford game. I could walk to the ground and enjoy a few beers. But I just haven't got round to it. A few lads in my golf club are regulars. Mind you a few of them are gradually finding their way back to the valley this year! I might try the return game v welling next week.
What a finish, walsall doing us great favours all round ! We extend the lead when it was going to be a flat day at best. Well done boys, great xmas gift from the lads !
What a 90th minute that was! Whahey! Happy days. That's a phenomenally important result for us. And hats of to Walsall!
Sounds as though Green has finally come good in this match and the winner was the cherry on the cake. Good battling spirit but that's three matches running where we haven't shown the fluent passing football of earlier in the season. Obviously missing Stephens and Jackson in that respect.
The sooner we get JJ back and the Loanees out the better. Just paused sky plus on the league table. 8 points clear. Wow! That was effectively a five point swing in the last couple of minutes between us and Sheff Weds!
And Hughes, sounds too close for comfort and Yeovil were in the lead on 2 occasions. Was there as much heading in this match as the Oldham one? They kept saying on BBC London that it could've gone either way.
So having Christmas dinner at home with your family does produce results - Chrissy, I take my hat off to you - or I would if I were wearing one... Eight points clear. Ye gods.
I was watching SSN when the Warsaw result came in and thought what would be perfect now would be a winner by Bradley Oh well..... you can't have everything
Was out walking with the family all afternoon, get back in the car in time to listen to James Alexander Gordon reading out the results - my heart leapt when he said 'Yeovil Town' in the tone that meant they had lost. Best Christmas present ever.
Can anyone get on the O/S? Any idea how many Addicks made the trip? They must have had a wonderful time.
What a last few minutes! http://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/160638-walsall-2-1-sheffield-wednesday/ This makes a funny read.
superb, brilliant, it was nail biting stuff listening on the radio,I nearly hit the cieling jumping up celebrating the winner great day for us.
