Football.London Arsenal correspondent Charles Watts, has ruled out Arsenal, saying it "definitely isnt Arsenal". Watts is a pretty decent bloke, have met him, and he knows his Arsenal ****, so i am inclined to believe him, think we can rule Arsenal out.
Dunno what those scouses see (@Tobes @luvgonzo) but Toure was a boss in his younger days both at Barca and City. The only thing was his ego. He used to boss games and had everything in his locker, dunno why they thought he was strolling, the man was a machine. Then he lost his legs at around 30 and couldn't be arsed and should have been moved on. I hope we don't get him now, he's had no legs for ages. You'd just be getting a black mark noble.
Agree with all of this. Up until 3 or 4 years ago I would have taken him at the Bridge in a heart beat. Not now though.....too much ego, no legs, salary request will be huge, past it , and we just plain have better midfielders, and so do the rest of the top London clubs imo.
Watched him get bossed plenty of times in his prime, some only remember the flash moments instead of looking at the whole package and with Toure when he was bad he was terrible and a passenger when he was brilliant then yes he certainly was but you simply did not know what you were going to get with him and I don't like that type of player.
His agent came out and said "Yaya is a Champion, he will not be moving to the club in last place". So that burnt that bridge
Nobody mentioned Fulham yet? Yaya was one of the best in the league in his prime, his legs have gone now though.
I am hearing now that it is Spurs!! Toure replacing Sissoko who is on his way out. If that is true, Yaya must have agreed to a greatly reduced wage. Saying that though, if he is that eager to prove himself, and his agent reckons he will play for £1 a week, maybe he has decided to go with Spurs. At 35, he cannot expect to keep getting the ridiculous salary he was on at City
I'm better than Sissoko so that's a good move tbf, Spurs have to consider that he's a bit of a twat though.
Probably wouldnt be a bad move if they need to replace Sissoko as a squad member. If his salary is reasonable and its only a one year deal. Good bit of experience for the youngsters too, doubt he will see many games, bar the Carabao cup and some sub appearances.
think that's a big mistake. Yaya hasn't been on it and he's better off in the MLS. Maybe he can still be the tank he was and has a bit of creativity about him but if they think he's going to be patrolling the midfield in a high energy game then they would have been better off with Sissoko running around.
I think Sissoko has kicked off and wants to leave, apparently to Fenerbache. If he leaves then Spurs will be light in midfield. Lamela hasn't been playing has he? He injured? If they need to bolster their midfield and the offer for Sissoko is too good to turn down, they have no choice but to go after a free agent to replace Moussa. They could do worse than Yaya tbh, like I said, if his salary is reasonable and it is short term. Might be worth a punt. I doubt he will be starting ahead of Alli and Eriksen et all
