He’s a lazy **** who only plays when he feels like it. At 35 he’s just looking for a club daft enough to give him a nice top up on his pension. We’ve already got one lumbering donkey, we don’t need another.
It says he is signing for a European Giant. That rules out Arsenal Maybe the club isn't in London, thats just where he is having the medical. Not impossible for Juve or someone to fly their doctor over to the UK to perform a medical. We dont need him, we have just signed Kovacic and Jorginho, plus we have the best DM in the world right now. Not gonna be us. Could be Arsenal I suppose, but European Giant isn't a word I would associate with Arsenal, no offence to the gooners. But they have never been Champions of Europe.
Certainly fits in with the recent club trend of signing OAPs though. Perhaps Toure will end up at Brentford. They never specified it had to be a premier league club, right?
Am I missing something here? I thought the window was closed for Premier League clubs. Outgoing yes sure, but incomings would have to wait til the January transfer window surely?
Dont think he has, not that I can see. He said the team is in London. Olympiakos are in london at the moment.
Don't see the point in us signing him. We've just signed Torreira and Guendouzi, and we have Xhaka, Ramsey and Elneny who can all play in there too.
Same with us. Anyone else get the impression his agent is just **** stirring to see if any other club bites? I honestly cannot see why Chelsea, Arsenal or Spurs would be interested in him at all. All three of those clubs have far better players in those positions. His agent reckons it aint West Ham or Palace, so that leaves what? Fulham? Wherever he goes he is going to be an over the hill waste on a huge salary......... Sarri has just started Chelsea on a system involving quick passing and pacey attacking movement, why would he sign a DM who is 35 and has no legs? Oh god its gonna be us isn't it!
If Toure still has a "point to prove" , then assuming he wants to play for a PL club, he could do the following : 1. Accept a 'pay per game' deal 2. Set the targets for him from the club (total games/minutes played, goals scored, help them avoid relegation etc) . If he meets or exceeds the targets, get a bonus payment at the end of the season. That would be equitable for the signing club. and Toure hardly needs the money considering his years on the Citeh payroll.
I would not mind another MF old-hand at Spurs like Edgar Davids over a decade ago. But Toure appears to be no Edgar Davids in temperament, so he fails the Pochettino 'harmony' test. "Oh god its gonna be us isn't it! "
But you can't add to a Prem Squad once submitted. Although I don't know if that was when the window shut, or 1 Sept as usual?
Pretty sure it is September 1st still. You just cannot purchase players from other clubs once the season starts (Because managers kept complaining that their players being tapped up was interfering with the starts of their seasons), but quite sure you can still sign free agents up until the Sept 1st deadline.
