M’VILA: SUNDERLAND FUTURE NOT IN MY HANDS

Yann M’Vila will leave his future in the hands of his agent as he concentrates to getting his career back on track, writes the Sunderland Echo.

M’Vila has gained a lot of respect from the Sunderland fans since arriving on Wearside, the only really noticeable mistake was conceding the penalty to the Saints before the international break. Big Sam has labelled M’Vila one of our best players over recent weeks, and you can’t help but agree with him.

Sunderland’s (arguably) strongest player so far this season is only getting closer to his departure, after signing a one-year loan with the club, he will return to parent club Rubin Kazan at the end of the season.

At least this is what you would believe, however, it is a complicated situation. The French international made it rather obvious he didn’t want to stay in Russia before his move to Sunderland, reportedly trashing his flat there.

Fortunately for the Sunderland fans wondering, there is a clause that we can sign the 25-year-old permanently should we stay in the Premier League. The downfall being Sunderland are only paying a small portion of M’Vila’s rather large deal with Kazan, and with teams such as Arsenal and Liverpool monitoring the midfielder, can Sunderland make a deal happen?

In his recent interview with the Echo, M’Vila talked about his future, Sunderland and work ethic:

“No, I’m not thinking about the future. “I really don’t know what will happen next summer. “For me, the most important thing was to play football, and above all, help Sunderland as much as possible to get to a better position.”Sunderland can help me reach another level in the Premier League too, so it was a win-win.”I’ll concentrate on trying to help us win matches and leave the discussions to my agent.“I’ve been working enormously hard to produce the maximum I can in every match.”Individually it’s been good, but the most important thing is the team.”The Premier League is not easy at all, but I think that I’ve been able to adapt to English football more quickly than other leagues because it suits my game.”I like to play, but I also find that I can use my aggression here.”It’s the type of football which I like, and the supporters here as well.”

Well that's M'Vila going elsewhere at the end of the Season. Short doesn't have the ambition to compete with the top clubs.

With him leaving it to his agent, the sceptic in me believes if he really wanted to be here, he would just say. He knows he's better than us though and I honestly believe he'll end up at a top 6 club come next season.

He'll need to earn it mate, top clubs look at consistent players. He's done well so far, this is his issue more than anything else in his career he puts in a few decent shifts then his head is in the clouds again. If he stays grounded and doesn't think about moving to a bigger club, that's his best shot at getting the move.

I hope for your sake, he's keeping away from the media and keeping his head down, you need him, regardless of where he's off next.

Agreed mate, he's been an absolute boss for us this season. He doesn't have a bad game and you can clearly see the class he possesses.

    He'll be off...

Its up to the rest of the bloody club to reach his level. If everyone upped their game a bit we might be out the relegation zone and in mid table. If that was the case we might have a chance at keeping him. If we are in a relegation battle until the end of the season (looks likely to me) he will be off.

Sam has not been here long, depends how everything pans out. Our defence is a real problem because our front line and midfield is actually fairly decent.

    Mvilla Catts
    Lens Johnson Borini
    Fletcher/Defoe

The above is not bad at all, but our defence is just terrible.

If we had a full squad at his level we'd be consistently challenging the top 6. It would cost us fortune and take a long time to reach that time and even then there's no guarantee. Agree on upping the game like. Need to dig deep and start winning ugly. Stay up and start from scratch... again.
