surprised no one has mentioned toni Kroos of bayern munich. he would be difficult to get, but is young, and eye for a pass and can score goals to.

We would definitely be title challengers with these 3 players, the one position we could improve would be a creative midfielder but Wilshere can play that role, he's got it in his locker.

We'd strengthen our defence and add some speed and power - I'd be happy with Vertonghen/Koscielny, pace and height or Vertoghen/Koscielny, pace height and power. Full back positions are sweet as long as Gibbs and Santos stay fit. The key area is the middle of the park and I would be happy as larry to see M'Villa anchor that bad boy with Wilshere playing offensively with Rosicky providing energy or we plump for Arteta's silky passing. Up front, RVP causing havoc with Podolski adding his cannonball shots from the left and a mix of Walcott/OXO playing as inside forwards on the right.

That to me is a strong team which can pass the ball around and dictate the game as we usually try. I'd want a target man for plan B cos the tippy tappy stuff is getting long in the bloody tooth now.

If we do get m'villa i don't really think that wenger would be looking to play him instead of song, he would maybe be looking to play him and song together, i was very sceptical about the need to bring in m'villa because song has been immense this season but both song amd m'vila are good on the ball aswel. I'm pretty sure m'vila will come because wenger has been an open admirer of his since last summer and they now appear to be in talks and if wenger is willing to spend around the £20m mark for a player then he will be worth it. Also the aquisition of vertonghen would also be a huge help, he is a solid defender who can also play out from the back. It would be good if we could get these transfers done early unlike last year, if we could even get them done before the euros it would be a huge advantage rather than both the club and the player being uncertain for another month allowing the opportunity for another club to come in like last year with mata.

Not sure why people think that Song and M'Villa can't play together. M'villa seems to be an all-round midfielder that can stay back and go forward. Wenger's is trying to create a dynamic midfield where our central midfield interchange and know when to go forward and stay back. We still haven't got an established midfield but when we get the right blend, we won't get caught on counters as much or leave gaping holes behind. This is more to do with our midfield not gelling together properly with a breakdown of communication.

More than anything else im.worried about where it leaves coquelin. Hes a massive talent.who we will.be foolish to waste and we should play him in midfield not at full back.

He is still young and will get his chance either way. I think Wenger will have him on the bench as some sort of utility man to cover a variety of positions at the back and midfield. We will undoubtly get injuries so i can see him playing for us either way. If by some freak occurrence (which is good), that no one gets injured, he can always be loaned out to a Premiership club. However, i can definately see him getting games if it means the domestic cups, or as subs in the league. Remember it's a long season....

According to wearethenorthbank we have now switched attention to javi Martinez as we look to be priced out of a move for M'vila. Like I said before I trust this site and must say I prefer Martinez to M'vila from what I've seen of him. What does everyone else think?

I've been a huge Arteta fan for years and whilst some think his signing on deadline day stank of desperation, I always thought that we were trying to get the deal done but Everton wouldn't budge until the player handed in a transfer request, however, if we strengthen with the likes of M'villa and there's no place for Arteta then so be it, this is a ruthless industry and if there is no longer a slot for one of your stars then people quickly overcome things.
