He has, I'm giving him a chance with this new formation as he's not a 4-3-3 player under our current squad. But for £50m I expect him to play in goal and score!

I think Torres also needs a team that is set up to play to his strengths, just like Liverpool did for the three years he was with them. Benitez basically told Alonso and Gerrard to play as many through balls as possible for Torres to chase. But Chelsea are used to playing balls for Drogba to hold up or Lampard to strike, so Torres isn't getting the type of service he needs right now. I think that's shot his confidence as much as anything - he seems much less relaxed and fluid playing at Chelsea compared to when he played at Liverpool.

My sentiment is the same for Darren Bent as it is for Yakubu.

Darren Bent has a better scoring record than Torres since he signed from Athletico Madrid. Torres is looking increasingly like an okay striker who had a good season once.
 
Peronally I dont think we need any more expensive baggage up front! Lets do it with what we've got plus the Hulk if we can get him! My mate who's a permanent resident in Portugal supports Ohlanense and reckons he'd die happy if they could sign him from Porto. But we've got more lucre than them!

He did it against Wolves and it seemed to work, that's what I'm saying. If he does it consistantly I'm sure Torres will score. Drogba will be away this month, Torres' chance to shine without anyone getting in his way (we hope).

I think your right Drogs, a while back Nando was looking sharp then got himself banned and he slipped backwards. Nando has looked like returning to that sharpness and played well against Wolves and looks like coming good again. Lets hope he nails it this time and keeps his place and goes from strength to strength. <ok>

Spot on Ginge, I just hope AVB doesn't shove Sturridge through the middle and start playing Kalou and really stuff everything up <yikes>

Kalou is like Macheda in some ways, has a modicum of ability but is too ****ing thick and stupid to do anything with it.<ok>

Pretty much! Malouda used to rip the french league apart, I remember how excited I was when we bought him! Guus certainly got the best out of him! Kalou, well, he's scored some important goals for us which I won't take away from him but the lad is the most unreliable **** I've seen in a blues shirt for the past 10 years!
 
Kalou is a very good squad player though Drogs, who does score important goals, as you said. He might just up the ante playing behind an improved midfield as well. Remember he's been every managers whipping boy since he got here. How could he have any confidence with all the slagging off he gets ?? Some is deserved, plenty isn't. He's still just a kid too.

Not sure mate, I'd get shot of him, he's been on about wanting a 100k pw contract. He's certainly not of that quality!
