A lot of people seem to have forgotten about the guy. He didn't have the best of games against Leicester, but no-one did. He's clearly still talented or have people written him off already?

Only asking because Puncheon might be quite knackered after Tuesday and if so, would you be opposed to giving Falque another chance?
 
One he's found his "place" I reckon he'll be a good addition and will play on Saturday, probably off the bench. Good player.
 
Wasn't Falque signed when Puncheon was still in exile. Bit unfortunate for him that Puncheon has been forgiven and played well against Cardiff. Puncheon will probably start against Birmingham unless he is knackered, but I did think Falque should have come on against Cardiff, even for the last 10 mins.
 
I thought the whole point of loaning a player out was so they would get regular games rather than warming a bench for their own club. We should either play the lad or let Spurs have him back.
 
Falque may yet feature. I'm sure no player is written off after one game by Adkins. He'll assess all players in training and see who is the right fit for the team for the upcoming game. For another game he might make a different choice. And remember (not tempting fate here) injuries happen and someone on the fringe can come in and be a match changer. Then we'll all be talking about that instead. Competition for places makes everyone up their game.

Pretty sure we won't have made any such promise and Spurs don't want him at the moment. It's up to him to take this opportunity to mature as a player. Knuckling down and learning humility and team spirit is part of that. Sure he'll go back to Spurs a better player than just training with reserve or youth squads at WHL.

I agree with most of that but what if, say, we lent Lee Barnard out to a League One side to get back to match fitness and they didn't play him? What would Nigel say about that?

Hopefully, as others have said, Yago will start to get a few appearances soon so a possible problem won't arise.

But Falque I presume won't have been loaned to us for the expressed purpose of getting match fitness, but to be able to play *some* first team football which, right now, he won't get at Spurs, so it's a different scenario.

He's been with us a week and has come from a different country/philosophy/language etc - unlike Lee he's not an established international player (and nor does he really play in a position that we're really short on) so there's lots to learn. As I say, he's been here a week and played one out of two games for us. I really, really don't see the problem!
 
Puncheon was loaned to QPR (though the reason may have been more to get rid of him) and he hardly got a look in, so managers know it could happen. I don't think Barney would be lent out to another team unless he was on his way out. He would surely be better to be monitored here. Loaning out tends to be for youth players.
 
I thought he played ok v Leicester but was presumably not completely match fit. I'm sure he will play an important role for us.
 
he would have to be something special on the training ground, i think chaplow then punch are ahead of him on the right with steve in 4th, he may have more joy on the left with only lallana infront of him.big games coming upwith lots of tactical options for the boss now- not least how do you play rickie , sharp , lee and lalanna at the same time (creaming my pants thinking about that one) we may have to start winning games 6-3 with all the attacking options, we have the best run in so we may get to see this

Steve 4th choice? i'd put him in before Falque,granted he hasn't done much as a starter but nearly every time he has come off the bench for us he has had an impact! I was actually quite disappointed that he wasn't on the bench against Cardiff instead of Falque.He wasn't injured either as he confirmed himself on Twitter.Maybe i'm alone in thinking this but i feel he has alot to offer.

I'd rather have someone in the squad that's recognised as a prospect all across Europe than someone who does little but runs in circles. There's a reason Yago has played for Barcelona, Juventus and Spurs while De Ridder has played for Hamme and De Graafschap.

I'm not going to get into slagging Falque off because we haven't seen enough of him but i think De Ridder offers far more than running around in circles! changed the game as a sub at Cardiff and Reading and i think he's a great impact sub.I think it's a little unfair to say he runs around in circles.
 
Deridder and Falque are players destined for 2 things. Covering injuries/suspensions & creating competition for places.
As long as the likes of Chaplow , Lallana, Cork and even Puncheon are fit then they play, simple.
But that said when their chance arrives they must take it with both hands.
Guly also plays on the wings, so add him into the equation too.
