Pick up a newspaper. Or even have a quick look at the internet. The penny might, might, start to drop. I'll not hold my breath on that though.
Twitter does have it pluses - a lot of them to be honest. Unfortuantely it's 80% kids posting utter crap, that hide behind a keyboard. Due to Twitter I have made some really good contacts to do with beatmaking (a hobby of mine). It can be a very good place to get recognised, I put loads of free mixtapes on there, and due to that have been booked for quite a few gigs. Twitter is useless, unless you have a purpose for an account - In that sense it pisses all over Facebook etc. and is extremely useful. EDIT: Most of the people I deal with on Twitter are black, due to the reggae connection. Guess how much racism they get??? None. Which says to be it's a football issue, more than anthing else.
I think it's more a publicity and reaction issue than anything. I'd guess most of the people you deal with on Twitter aren't well known enough for groups to bother targeting them, and also probably won't react with the same 'look at me' outrage Toure seems to be going for. Didn't Toure publicly close his Twitter account claiming racism? That was always going to get the racists and trolls targeting him again when he reopened it. I'm sure football plays a role in his profile, and maybe some tribalism, but I think most black footballers don't get massive amounts of racist abuse, cos they just ignore or dismiss any racism they do receive.
Yes, yes, and yes Although I do cummicate with some well known people - Alkaline (massive in Jamaica), he used a 40 second piece of my beatwork for a track he did, and it reached number 1 in the dancehall charts. I'm also pals with DJ Fearless and Wildcat - both 2 of the best reggae dancehall DJ's outta Jamaica. But due to most of their followers either being into their work or being black themselves, racism on their part on Twitter shouldn't ever be a problem
The thread evolved into something about Twitter - if you bothered to read it all. It was a response to Swarbs, not you
The thread evolved into why some famous people are targeted on Twitter. You then randomly listed some "famous" people you tweet with!
The thread always was about a famous person being targeted on twitter. In a roundabout way. More about a famous person moaning about being targeted on Twitter after previously leaving Twitter for being targeted but couldn't help himself going back on Twitter, to some fanfare which he himself instigated, and then was re targeted on Twitter. The moral of this particular story is don't ****ing go on Twitter.
This. Unless you are a beatmaker looking to get some gigs by pestering some semi famous Jamaican DJs it seems...
