We need someone to replace Arshavin, as Nasri can't play LW and its unlikely that Miyaichi will break into the starting 11. However, we could buy Xherdan Shaqiri, a 19 year-old Albanian who is a Swiss national, so work permit would not be a problem. He would cost around 5-8 million but I feel it would be worth it as he can dribble, pass, cross, take free kicks and has an eye for goal. Regarded by many as the future of Swiss football, he would be an awesome signing for Wenger to make. The hard part would be persuading FC Basel to let him go, but I'm sure he would have no problems coming to the Arsenal.
He is left-footed and would fit in perfectly into our system. Basel play a similar style of football to us, with lots of passes and good ball possession, looking for an opening. The only difference is that they have a 6'5" Streller to pump balls into the box to if they want. Shaqiri would offer something different to out team, as he runs at players, can cross the ball WELL, is very hard working and would shoot occasionally if our passes aren't working. He started out as a LB, so he is good at defending and can help whoever we have at LB next season, I think Gibbs, which has been a problem for us with Arshavin and Nasri playing there. This is what our team would look like next year if we sold Nasri and Clichy and didn't buy anyone else:
--------------Szczesny---------------
--Sagna--Djourou--Vermaelen--Gibbs--
-----------Song----Wilshere----------
--Walcott-----Fabregas-----Shaqiri---
---------------v.Persie
Of course, I would also like Wenger to buy a dominant CB, i.e. Samba or Cahill (I would prefer Samba), and also bought a striker to partner v. Persie (I would like Gameiro) and went back to a 4-4-2, like this:
-------------Szczesny---------------
--Sagna--Samba--Vermaelen--Gibbs--
-Walcott--Song----Fabregas--Shaqiri-
---------Gameiro--v.Persie-----------
Subs: Fabianksi, Koscielny, Djourou, Wilshere, Ramsey, Arshavin, Chamakh.
Due to injuries, all of the subs would likely get lots of games, especially if we go far in all 4 competitions next year. This would give these guys also a chance:
Reserves: Mannone, Eboue, Traore, Bartley, Frimpong, Lansbury, Alvarez (hopefully), Bedntner (if he stays), JET.
Thank you for your time.
