    We don't need him. We have Stirling and shelvey.. They will come good it's written in the stars.

    If he took a pay cut, he still has plenty to offer us. Around 4 years atleast, wouldn't be expensive in terms of transfer fee, can help players slowly ease into the line up whilst providing us with a leader and an experienced member meanwhile.

    Rotate him with Gerrard which could help ease pressure on him, possibly ensuring atleast one more season of Gerrard playing, combine a midfield three out of Alonso or Gerrard, Lucas or Allen (possibly only a backup at this stage, meaning Alonso would put less pressure on him to come into the team as Lucas will benefit from defensive cover by Alonso) and Henderson or maybe Coutinho if he was chosen as the central attacking figure in midfield?

    Either way, Alonso can offer some depth to the squad at the very least, although I am all for youngsters, I agree we need experienced leaders in the team to help put the youngsters and balance the team out at times.
