WYP, as expected, won't back down. the protest will go ahead but the massive concern is that no matter what happens the march and protest MUST be peaceful and an almost carnival atmosphere. WYP would love to be able to say" We told you so..." they may even provoke a reaction which must be avoided al all costs..
Bielbs.I agree. The other conclusion ,if there was any trouble,or if there was gridlock on roads in/out of Udders or service station, could be that it was caused by poor police decision making .This would be in direct contrast with all my (many) great trips to Udders(and we have nearly always lost-without fans near me causing any problems to anyone).I am strongly urging fans not to cause trouble.I am also strongly urging the police to avoid strong arm/road block tactics. If there were to be a serious incident in the area(non football related) and the roads were at a standstill due to police stops it could have catastrophic cosequences. I have been delayed for ages on previous trips into the match and that was simply the volume of traffic. WYP if you are monitoring this site(which I asume you are)please think hard and police in a reasonable way I support the police in most things but you have got this one wrong. We live in an increasingly accountable society(Hillsborough is a long way from over). You will not get away with provoking a situation and then saying "told you so" Your leaders must act with intelligence and flexibility. My wish would be someone could say "maybe we got this wrong"and treat it like any local derby.I think the man who did this might just rescue his career prospects
Lets hope a dozen lads with Range Rovers don't all break down simultaneously on the Hartshead Moor Services slip road at 4.00pm.
Not advised in case genuine need for emergency vehicles arises. It is not worth putting the publics lives at risk. Christ I should work for the police and just say "SORRY WE GOT IT WRONG!!!!!!"Man up for gods sake wyp You could have a much more serious problem(as yet unforeseen)on your hands and the bottom line(from most neutral points of view)is that it is due to bungling thinking on your part. I am sure most 10 year olds could start to see the potential problems ahead. Not just now but for years to come.
Any Hull City Fan who was @ the Cardiff City away game for instance will have been video'd. ffs the welsh fuzz were even seen filming a group of fizzies/old folks getting off tiger travel. Routine operational requirements according to match sewards just in case.
Tickler .We old folks get get pretty frisky if we do not get a biscuit with our cuppa. LEiCESTER fans saying they will be their in Fox colours(talking balls site)-that takes balls.Generous and friemdly welcome to them please
I have been trying to tell posters this. YOU WILL not lose your season pass for attending the march. The two football clubs both support it. But you may if you are involved in violent behaviour or ignore the dispersal order. I would also advise anyone who travels to Huddersfield to ensure that the car is taxed insured and its tyres are legal. What is clear is that if you have been arrested or removed from a stadium in the past you will have a difficult day.
There is a Huddersfield town shop in town cetre near the Hart pub.I will be buying something as I hope many others will do.Could be a tradition to wear each others colours at future games between us.Some very supportive fans on their forums.
