Lack of fitness in a pro footballer is inexcusable. That lies wholly and solely at the feet of ross.
With the facilities at his disposal and modern technology not to have his players as fit as if not fitter than other teams in this dog5hit league is an utter disgrace.

Tranmere are likely to be easy picking. I'm almost certainly going to the reverse fixture in January and they're not a very strong team in this league (hopefully good enough to survive). Failing to win at home against them would be a lot worse than losing away to Wycombe (who are a good team having a good run) and I don't see it happening to be honest. 3 points and back in and around the play-offs, it's a marathon not a sprint.

Problem is while ross was here it was a painful slog. It is clear there is still a very negative hangover from his tenure.
Team seems bereft of confidence. The unfulfilled need to keep a clean sheet along with resulting lack of creativity by over reliance on hoofball is leaving us exposed to average teams with savvy managers.
They know how we will play and how we are set up. They set up accordingly. Then our collective ar5es fall out. On paper we should beat tranmere but yet the same was spouted about rotherham, bolton, oxford, and in fact wycombe and Lincoln.
And all these people saying ross deserved more time??? Bewildering

Proper managers monitor and measure a players fitness these days .
It's not hard with technology both at games and in training
If a players isnt cutting it, he should be dropped, fined or kicked out.
It's not hard, it's what proper managers do.
I am sure there are lazy players. The manager is supposed to spot them.
Maybe he was just a lazy fu##ing manager in addition to being useless

Is it a lack of fitness or that we have a lot of slow players? If they are running about at nearly top speed, just to keep up with play, then they will tire quicker.

Tbf we do our selves no favours whatsoever starting a tortoise like leadbitter against a physical side like wycombe. Unless you provide someone to do his running and tackling he's a waste of a shirt. As mentioned earlier I believe our players lack bottle st the moment due to ross's extreme safety first approach to all games. There's a big mess behind the scenes which will take time to clear up

The Wycombe game was a free hit for Parkinson, statistics show it was a close run thing but we know the old weaknesses are still there and so do savvy opponents. Hopefully the new management team will now have some insight and set about rectifying them. I want to see a gradual and sustained improvement which will see us go into the play offs (probably), with confidence this time, or (possibly), make the top two, which does look an ouside chance atm. A decent result or two, coupled with some visible signs of improvement in tactics, would undoubtedly help, so lets hope they are not too far away OaU with the Parky Boys

Aye, but good management would certainly see that and root it out. No excuses for idleness

I had the same misgivings when I saw the team and worried about our left side which looked weak on paper. But who would you have put in there, the alternatives are all too similar. Thats the main mid field dilemma we face imo and solving it would be a start in the right direction, which we all hope for.

That's why I hope ( expect ) he is going to plug these gaps in the January window ( jan 1st please ) with players who know what he expects and who possess the qualities we dont have in midfield ie pace strength, and height. Similarly we need someone at the back who can read and organise and lead by example.
My comparison would be a Jonny Evans ( cb)and a Graham kavanagh ( mf) that keane brought in during our promotion push. Those 2 were the standouts of that promotion side.

Dust settled from yesterday. Didn't go to the game only listened on the radio
Was a bit disappointed in the players. Thought they would have stepped up to the plate
New manager and all. But from the commentary sounds like they were very lack luster.
Any thoughts from people who were there
Lack of effort or just struggling with Parkinson's long ball tactics.

So did I - and so did RR - their MOTM.

On that cross which he put right on Wyke's head, did anyone notice how the two defenders that Wyke had split stepped up and put Wyke offside, I don't remember any of our CB combinations doing something like that.

Pleased many on here us stood by him when he wobbled at the start of the season, most players making the step up will have an off game or two, in the past too many of our academy players have been written of without a real chance to show what they can do imo. I hope Bali Mumba, is given some time to develop at this level and was delighted to see him in the squad yesterday. Robson and Embleton are two more that I rate highly, all four have real quality that needs to be built on, not squandered at the first opportunity.
