Enjoyable game today but unfortunately the ref takes all the headlines as usual.

We played well but Scunny had most of the big chances to win the game. Bully to the rescue once again though. We also showed plenty of heart and desire, especially at the back where the twin towers of Winfield and Tunnicliffe were immense. There was enough on show to make me think we can hold our own in this league, the lads really got stuck in and battled well against a decent side who showed their Championship experience.

And on to the ref. What an utter joke of a performance from him. There were too many incidents to mention but the Strevens red card was incredible. Hopefully someone has a different view to me, but the way I saw it was that he went in for a 50-50 with no malice by either player. Then their player got the hump and went for Strevs while they were on the floor. I think I saw a punch thrown by the Scunny player (Togwell?) but I can't be sure. Strevs did nothing other than hold him off, then gets another yellow and off he went. Did I see that right?

And what was with the drum wars behind the goal?!

    Welcome back football.

agree with wandermagic the ref was a ****er and the sending off of strevs was a joke.a decent game and scunny bossed most of the first half 2 sloppy goals .scunny showed that they were a championship team last season with some neat football at times but we matched them in the second half and had 3 good chances early in the 2nd half but didnt take them.we have to thank bully in goal again he made some superb saves to keep us level ,overall a fair result.the one minus for me was grant on the left wing,he bottled a few tackles and done nothing all afternoon but i reserve judgement on him untill i see him play more often.man of the match for us was a joint decision for me between bully and right back foster who i thought had an excellent game today.agree about the drummers as well they were awful but its first game of the season and they can only get better.

From the commentary I got the impression that Winfield and Tunnicliffe were our best players on the day plus of course Bully (what a goallie). Foster seemed to have a very good game also. Grant was very disappointing; I was expecting him to weave out a few openings. Donnelly also seemed to be everywhere. So plenty of good performances.

    Is the ref still alive?

Hi Rocky, noticed you on the Preston board earlier today, pity you did'nt stay long enough to see the result.
Cant see many sides coming away with a 4-2 win.
Think your game had draw written all over it, Scunny coming down and you coming up, looking forward to following our game with you on tinternet.
Good luck for the rest of the season.
