town face a tough test against a team who's form is also improving unfortunately a number of key players may be injured. https://www.shropshirestar.com/spor...orce-shrewsbury-town-into-changes-at-wycombe/
town did not really get to grip with Wycombes tactics of playing the space turning the defence and looking for set pieces .ferjiri makes an assist and scores it was nice for Holloway to score.but towns defence should do better with set pieces
Did not go or see the goals yet but you are right about our defence - of the back four only Waterfall and Emmanuel have been consistently good recently and I also think Coleman is a better keeper than Arnold. It could be time to integrate Bolton or Kennedy at centre half. Beckles continues to struggle at times at left back but Haynes (though better going forward) is a worse defender at present but perhaps could improve with a run in the side. Heard that Jacobson scored a screamer today - he should never have been allowed to leave as good specialist left backs are very hard to find.
With the quality of your defence as you put it and the quality of our defence which is abysmal at the minute the score on Tuesday could be 10 - 10 or as I prefer to call it 9 - 10.
many the Fans who did go felt Arnold was to blame for two of them our defence is prone to switching off or not doing the basics like marking the back post and we have a toxic combination of giving far too many soft free kicks and corners away.
Would either of these scores be a record Greeny?Last season we kick started your charge up the table so we hope to delay that by one game this season.
Definately not a record. When my son played junior football you often got scorelines of 20+ - 10+. Mind you the keepers were only 2 foot 6 inches tall. Not expecting much of a kick start this time round. Don't think last season will be repeated.
Pity I have got to work tomorrow night so I will miss the game (bring on my retirement next year!). However, I have the feeling that both us and Plymouth will still be in League 1 next season to renew our rivalry.
Told you we were crap. No great escape this season for us. If we do live to fight another day then it is going to be after a big big battle.
anything is possible in football , wind town back just a few games and we looked as if we were heading for relegation. it is not as if we have any new players the temporary manager has got them playing for him and is getting them to play to there strengths.however Wycombe showed that we were out played and out thought and did not adjust to there tactics and have our own frailties. what i am most pleased about is that Coyne believes in ferjiri he is getting regular first team performances and they have mainly stopped hitting high balls to him and play it on the ground the result four goals in four games. i hope things get better for you as long as you stay behind town
Keep the faith Greeny, you have won a few at home recently and there are quite a few poor teams this year - there should be four who are worse than you by the end of the season.
There might be 4 worse if they work hard to achieve it mate. We are definately one of the poor teams this time around. But we live in hope as all blinkered fans do.
