town face Wycombe who are unbeaten in the last six games and have only lost one game this season. so town face a tough challenge https://www.shropshirestar.com/spor...t-shrewsbury-town-win-yet-could-be-priceless/ "Ricketts ditched the usual 3-5-2 and switched to a variant of 3-4-3, a more attacking style, against Phil Parkinson’s Black Cats – who pitched up on the back of a 5-0 romp of Tranmere. It meant Dave Edwards and Shaun Whalley – both introduced to the starting XI alongside the other change, Scott Golbourne – played attacking roles in support of striker Cummings." all of which is relevant for this game, you would expect town to stick with 3- 4 -3 and the same players. a draw away from home keeps town ticking along as we now have a run of game against top ten teams i just hope we can score first and dont sit deep.
Rangers manager is looking to reduce the size of his squad and send players out on loan www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/steven-gerrard-rangers-transfer-message-20658645 "A candidate for a short-term exit could be Greg Docherty. The 22-year-old is all-action but his opportunities have been limited and hasn't featured in the Premiership this season. Docherty is admired at Ibrox for his workrate and drive to succeed but is way down the midfield pecking order with Glen Kamara, Steven Davis, Joe Aribo and Ryan Jack all battling for game time."
you would hope that we at least express some intrest in Docherty , Grant is doing well in Swindon he is on loan till january and they wont to sign him you would hope that town can get to some arangment and release some cash with the amount of injurys we seem to be having
wycombe fans are not fans of our away kit, and describe us a park the bus team that they will sort out, they seem confident of a win.
town need to avoid silly mistakes and silence the home crowd. considering towns goal scoring record town need to score first.
Could be in for a tough afternoon - let's hope we play better than the England rugby boys did this morning!
town made the brighter start , had a number of half chances playing conditions sound terrible possibly worth trying a few shoots to see if the keeper spils it. can we get somthing in the second half , only concerns for me was that town had given a few soft free kicks in dangerous areas and wycombe have players who can punish us.
Wycome came out in the second half and went up a gear, whilst not causing town much problems from open play , you keep giving soft free kicks in dangerous places it not going to be a suprise for Wycombe to score from a set piece . town failed to respond to the goal and a cummings long range shoot was the only save there keeper had to make in 45 minutes. towards the end of the game Norburn missed towns best chance by heading wide. Williams loss of discipline resulted in a red card was avoidable and stupid. this game highlights what town do well ; hard to break down with a good keeper and what we dont ; when we dont play to the fowards strengths and struggle to score. what is frustrating is that Wycombe did not play us off the park and this was a game town could have won but did not capatalize on there bright start with enough clear chances and we shoot ourselves in the foot with far too many soft free kicks.
this articel is not telling us anything we dont know. https://www.shropshirestar.com/spor...lings-in-front-of-goal-haunt-shrewsbury-town/ "Sam Ricketts must be feel he is repeating himself in his post-match interviews this season. There is certainly a case of deja vu writing these analysis pieces – as Shrewsbury have been made to pay for their lack of ruthlessness time after time this season. Town cannot be bailed out by their superb defence every time. It is impossible to keep clean sheets every week. The attackers simply have to take the weight off their rearguard."
