It's a very interesting building with a medieval core and later elements of early 18th century date. During that later period a lot of structural timber was imported from the Baltic, so it's possible that there is some Norwegian Wood there...

Was going to buy one of the lodges as part of a group when it was sold in about 1980 but it all fell through when someone bought the lot. Hadn’t heard or had forgotten about Paul Mcartney.

Meeting confirmed at 11am Friday with 'his people' ....

... wtf, there's only me and Mrs Smug on our side.

I don't usually get excited about these things but I have to admit I am with this.

Were booked on the ferry to France on Monday, for our new job, but everything could change ...

.... I have mates who are jealous of our lifestyle but as @Gordon Armstrong would tell you it's chaos theory gone mad.

I love it all because it suits my temperament but most people would totally freak out with it all.

I've had a few glasses of wine while I've been pondering all this so excuse any sentimentality.

Funny thing is mate I've spent three times longer living in the south of France than Durham ...

... I left Durham when I was 8 but still consider it home, very much so.

I wouldn't wear anything black and white mate and they would spot me a mile off if it was red and white
