I'm not going to wade in with any brash statements, not knowing the facts but having read through the thread. What I will say is the Liverpool board has a tendency to be unwelcoming of outsiders, hostile and ridiculously petty, and I understand why. They have had a massive downfall in recent seasons and having enjoyed being certain ELITE premier league, they're now mid-table fodder (albeit still looked up to by lots of clubs). Thus they get WUMs, especially from the exultant company who Liverpool fans were always crowing about beating. The Man Utd board would be crawling with people Wumming if the same happened to them, and they'd end up just as angry and pathetic looking. The same happened on our board when we went down.

Tis the nature of the internet forum.

I really wish a modicum of trust was installed however and we could all get a long. I don't care about terrorwit being banned as a case in point, but the fact of the matter is that I was subject to abuse and called a WUM, some from mods I believe, who jumped down my throat because my viewpoint contradicted theirs, and most were calling me a repeat offender. Well done genii, it was the first time I'd ever been on their board <doh>. That's not on, and they really need to buck up their ideas and be more accepting over there, because they border on pathetic some of the time. Tempering this, once even the dumbest of them realised I was in fact not a WUM (considering I was offering them compliments, it was surprising it took as long as it did) I have been fairly well received in recent interactions and they do have intelligent and humorous posters.

As another example, when I reached 1000 posts on here, as is tradition on our board, I held a 1000th post thread and asked everyone on our board to name 1 thing they liked about Sunderland, because since Sir Bob died I have tried to unite the two supporters anyway I could. I then went onto the Sunderland board and posted a link to the thread, asking if they would like to partake, and if not, to have a good weekend. All I got on that thread was disgusting nd confusing abuse. The brighter ones amongst them had clicked the link and joined in on the original thread, the dumber ones (including some mods) just lashed out. It was utterly pathetic. I even had a thread called "TheJPF (my username then) is the spawn of Satan/Hitler" after me <yikes> and some more disgusting abuse thereafter. So I left them to it.

Latterly all of the posters who abused my thread have apologised. The problem is when boards have had WUMs they start to see anything foreign as a threat and attack it. Personally, I blame the fallout from the lack of multi-board posts. I think multi-board posts encouraged harmony, trust, and worthwhile interaction and the idiotic ones WUMMING could be deleted easy enough.

This is a multi-board forum though, MODs and normal posters should expect some roaming and be prepared to have a chilled view about other's perspectives. I personally like to discuss views with other people, and am most interested in the ones that differ, because I can either learn something or tempt them over to my way of thinking.

Anyway, I wish all boards the best of luck in combating idiots and WUMs, and hope we can all learn to trust each other a little more and be more receptive to other people's views <ok>

It's ****. The mods are trigger happy and they wouldn't allow me, Frodo, to speak.

Only kidding. Very friendly bunch you have there, never a problem.
